With the 135th overall pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select OL Kevin Dotson

You don't know chyt anyway...

I liked Biadasz but I read some concerns about his uneven play down the home stretch.

Dotson is what the Steelers like he brings a nasty demeanor in the run game. I think his pass blocking will need tweaking. perhaps that will develop. Don't see him as a starter out of the gates, so SW is going to have to man the fort initially.

From a guy pretty familiar with OL play:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Kevin Dotson might be the best OG in this class when it's all said and done.</p>— Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) <a href="https://twitter.com/geoffschwartz/status/1254106889085911041?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 25, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

"Not a natural knee bender"

Mike Mayock would never have picked him, lol

Seeing a lot of buzz about this dude, that it was a great pick, and that he's an absolute mauler. I've seen him mocked higher than where we got him. I like it. We needed this depth. My only issue is - what's the plan at NT and S depth?

I seen a graphic from PFF that he’s been a top 3 grader run blocker the last two years, and was no lower than 12th in pass pro those same years. Wasn’t Ramon Foster a UDFA? I mean he wasn’t a star but found himself a pretty damn good niche as the elder statesman of the OL, and made all the line calls. I think I feel better about this guy than I did with the tackle projects they’ve taken the last couple drafts (although those guys had the benefit of learning from Munch).

Dotson is a Steeler fan. Will bring excitement and heart.

As did BJ Finney.

More of Dotson talking about his favorite team.

"They’ve always been my No. 1 team," Dotson was saying. "I’ve followed them since I was about five. Even in my house, we have a big-old man cave, and it’s all Steelers, decked out. I’ve been following them forever. My favorite player used to be ‘The Bus' [Jerome Bettis]. All my passwords used to have 36 at the end of them and stuff like that, just because of that.

"So now that this is happening, it’s … it’s ridiculous. I couldn’t even imagine this happening."

Truly a dream come true!

"I know what type of player you have to be to be an offensive lineman for the Steelers," Dotson said. "It’s all what football represents, being a tough guy, being a guy who knows what he’s doing and being able to come off hard every play. So I know I guarantee that I’ll be that guy for the Pittsburgh Steelers."

Who in the hell is Geoff Schwartz, anyway ........ is he your neighbour, does he have any qualifications .....has he ever put on a jock strap, played, coached or administrated ....is he a postman without season tickets... ................ the Steelers don't have to do anything Geoff Schwartz says......

Schwartz was a 2nd team All-Conference tackle at Oregon and played guard in the NFL for 8 seasons. He currently writes about football and has a brother that plays offensive line in the NFL.

I think that was sarcasm from Paul

All good SteelerFan448 ...... I thought Steelworth would enjoy reliving the Mel Kiper Jr riff from 1994 draft with Indy GM

I watched some Dotson film. I see very solid foot movement in a tight space, great balance, dominant strength in the run game and a bad attitude. I'm in.

Another weird draft another weird pick... they seem to be in love with tweezers and have for long time... some times it works sometimes doesn’t... Davis wasn’t a corner wasn’t a safety, bush isn’t a safety not a middle linebacker. buds not a lber and not a DE, Claypool not really a wr but not a te. Goes on and on Dotson isn’t really a power blocker isn’t really a wide zone blocker either... wasn’t really a tackle wasn’t really a guard played both like Davis. Stupid.

Villanueva wasn't an OT, he was a DT...

Tomlin isn't really a coach, isn't really a cheerleader, kinda in-between.:)

Tomlin is a leader of men, and makes an impact on everyone he meets. He is an icon to any black athlete coming into the league, and everyone that I've spoken with that has met with him, has nothing but glowing things to say about the man.

This has also transitioned him to being an inter league recruiter. We're able to get a lot of talent that we want in FA, because people want to play for him.

Kind of an interesting dynamic.

He let twitter pick his number. Rocking 69 looks good.

I hope he was the LG they wanted and not the one we stteled because Biadez, Bredeson, Cushenberry, Jackson were all take prior, I understand that he was a huge steelers fan and loved bettis and it must be surreal but I really hope he is a long term fixture.
