Yup! This is why old sports casters suck. They never adjust to the times, and only can think about when they played and what worked then. They think a phenom is the only way to change the game of football, but in fact, it has always been the coaches. We've taken the Pats pass attack and perfected it with more talent than they ever dreamed you could have doing this. They won multiple SBs doing this and being piss poor in the run game as well. Open up your eyes old men, the Steelers don't need a run game to win in the NFL. The rules are slanted so hard for the pass attack anyway with DPI, D holding, Hands to the face, Roughing the passer, that it really shows the benefit of passing over running for little gain and getting slammed with 10 yard holding penalties that kill your drives.
This is why the CFL passes nearly all the time. You take away one down, and it is even clearer, that passing the ball is the most effective way to gain distance while using defensive penalties against the other team.
