Again...you gathered this in the handful of plays that he played in last season? I hope the kid is a stud but to say on way or the other at this point is fruitless.....

Kind of like all the naysayers and the line spread. It just doesn't matter at this time of year. As for drawing conclusions, I'm only speculating, same as you by not commenting either way.

i feel good about Coates as the new Mike Wallace deep threat. The problem is the slot. A slot WR needs to be able to read defenses and be fearless over the middle. Right now, AB is the only guy i'm sure can do that job.

Wheaton has had tons of opportunities and it just hasn't clicked. He's OK but that's it.

I'm expecting them to use the 2 TE set most of the time with James at TE and Green lining up in the slot or maybe the backfield, Unless Green steps up his blocking big time, i don't see him playing much traditional TE.

Wheaton will probably have to battle a combination of Green and Coates. He has the speed to be a deep threat but he just doesn't have a connection with Ben.

Ayers is interesting. He seems perfect for the slot but may not be ready as a rookie. Guys who come from spread offenses tend to have a learning curve because the spread is so simple.

And he went to Houston, so, probably, has to learn to read before he even gets the playbook.

Coach only needs 44 minutes of game tape for studying.

Surely between his plays last year and college previously 44+ minutes can be scraped together.
