Probably on 4 minutes of tape that another person made the effort of editing
I was going to ask the same but said **** it
Based off of what exactly?
Yes, they can. Williams is a bit of a poor man's Kirkland, and that's not a bad thing at all. He can blow up the run in the box! But he's a little slow and below average in coverage. I actually think rookie Tyler Matakevich is better in coverage.
We play nickel and dime more often and Williams doesn't have a role here.
I'll grade this move as follows. He's not as good as Timmons, but much cheaper. How we spend the additional cap space here remains to be seen.
Timmons cap number this year is something like 15 million for the season. While I think Timmons was a very good player for us ( good enough for top 50 of all time ), he's not worth the last contract the Steelers offered.
As for Vince, I like him vs the run in the box, but think he's a tad slow for the nickel.
I believe Timmon's cap number is so high because he twice agreed to restructure when they needed help. Maybe his last contract was in appreciation for him being not only an outstanding player but a class act all his career.
