William Gay re-signed

I just read three-year deal worth $4.5 million that includes a $500,000 signing bonus. This is too good to be true. Did Golden get a better deal than Gay?

Who is Gay's agent?

No way that is accurate.

That's what his contract was when he came back to Pittsburgh, not the one he just signed. Those numbers haven't been released yet.

Dale Lolley said it. Not sure if we can talk about him here. Mod's delete this post if necessary

That's his old contract. Maybe he signed for that again but I wouldn't count on it

my guess is 4 miion a year with a lot upfront

do you prefer gay on the inside and **** on the outside

or **** on the inside and gay outside

Science has shown Slash, that Gay on the outside and **** on the inside is feasible. Therefore we at Steeler Nation must push for that theory. Coach Tomlin should have success abiding by the laws of nature

I used to believe this...

But I am starting to believe that WIII and Mackensie are certainly good value at 1.25 (if theyre still there)

Jackson is worth it.

It's debatable. I like Jackson. But if someone like Billings, Rankins, or Reed is there, I take them there. These are some really good looking DT's. I have visions of another Big Snack in that defense freeing up the the rest of the defense to do their damage.

And as far as Mackenzie goes, I really don't think he will be there at 1-25. Just my opinion. We'll see how he does at his pro day...

no fun when there's no boykin

I just hope the position of pick value is near player value and coincides with NEED. Our Gay **** can MAN the possition so lets not just grab a CB to be grabbing. Take BPA at 1.25 and hope he cvan fill a need.

Salute the nation

McKelvin, would be great, I still want Eli Apple badly at 25, he in a year could replace gay and we could roll a DB rotation of Gay Cockrell Golsen/Apple Mitchell/Grant and Golden/Grant will be a secondary that will be able to stop 3rd and short and 3rd and long.

2016-2017
LCB Apple
RCB Cockrell
NB Golsen
DB/S Gay
FS Mitchell
Ss Golden/2016 rookie

What was Golden's deal #'s. I'm glad the NFL doesn't; value Gay the way we do!

Golden was 3 years for $5m.

Seems odd that Gay went for under $3m/year.

yeap, it probably was a hometown discount sort of thing and his age might be a factor too but obviously Gay wanted to stay here, glad to have a player so commited to the team

Still a crazy low salary. IMO he could have gotten around $5m/year on the open market.

Maybe he wants to win Super Bowls or leaving once left a bad taste in his mouth.

I think he could've between 3,5 to 5M a year, compared to that 2,5M is a bargain

Maybe that was at the high end of his market that he had gauged and he didn't want to wait to see if the Steelers moved on? I think it's a great contract for us but I kinda think he left a bit of money on the table.

He is what 31? I'm guessing the only teams that would throw decent money at him were teams like Jacksonville or other non competitors and he wanted a chance at a Super Bowl.
