Will players follow LeBeau?

here's the problem:
would you rather have Cam Thomas as a back up DE, or Keisel, who is better, easy answere there.
Who is our best pass rushing OLB? Another easy answer, Harrison.

Maybe in their current system...who knows what they will be running next season. Also Butler stated they they talked about bringing Harrison back before last season started, but it was agreed that he would command to much playing time and hurt the development of there younger players .....I believe Harrison's time is also at it's end.

that says a lot... Old man is still way better than our wasted pick

I highly doubt any player to leave with DL. First off, Dick would need a job at a football place before any thing would happen. Secondly, most of the players mentioned have ties to the town of PITTSBURGH, why would they leave. Remeber, it's a buisness and the players understand that.

Salute the nation

no one is going to take Allen's contract, who will retire or follow DL
Troy, Taylor
maybe Brett @ Deebo @ W.Allen

gotta re-sign Mccain @ Blake good 3-5 DB's should be signed to multi year deals. I think the speed and amount of area Blake can cover maybe he can play S esp in a tampa 2.

Good points, was wondering about a possible "consulting" job with AZ or TENN.

Ike might want one last contract, same with the other loyal DLB guys now that it is apparent there will be sweeping changes.

Troy has said he is a Pittsburgher now, lives here full time in off season.

I'd take Keisel. He is actually signed through next year. The only question is if he will be ready to even play next year. At his age, the injury may end his career even if they wanted him back.

Worlids is a 5.5 mill per year player at max offer him 5 28 million with a incentive laced deal like every season he gets over 10 sacks 1 million bonus.

If Butler gets the DC job I think he is not going to drop a pure pass rusher as much as DL did this year, this kid plays with a lot of heart, he just needs to get a bit better vs the run and if lined on the edge he can match Woodley @ Haggans best years.
If we are going to a 4-3 you would have to use him like how indy used Mathis just blitz.

Sometimes things like this need to happen to be able to rebuild.

Losing LeBeau, Harrison, Taylor, Troy is a necessary evil for this team to move forward. Draft aggressive play makers and lets get back to a nasty defense once again.

I recall the talking heads referring to how the Steelers never had to rebuild, we just had to "reload". How far we've fallen (especially our D).

IF Dick LeBeau gets a job somewhere else will any Steelers going into free agency follow?

Troy
Harrison
Ike Taylor
Worilds
Keisel
McCain
Will Allen

Who else?

Good question. My guess is anyone who is cut or not offered a new deal from the Steelers will get a call from LeBeau.

None of those three guys (Thomas, Keisel or Harrison) is coming back. Thomas isn't worth what he would take up in salary cap space, especially since he would only be a backup at DE, not both DE and NT. And both of our starting DEs (Heyward, Tuitt) are guys that don't want to come off the field.

Keisel and Harrison can give you flashes of brilliance but it's only a matter of time until they are injured. We were lucky to get 12 games out of Keisel, next year it might be 3. And who's to say that either of those two is willing to play another year for the veteran minimum? We need to move forward with guys that are a better bet to make it through an entire season.

The only one who is a free agent AND is any, err, slightly good is Worilds. Of the other vets, Harrison is the only one with anything left in the tank. Love Keisel but I think if he plays another year he will suffer from Aaron Smith disease and continue to suffer season-ending injuries.
