will brown be reduced to just another receiver with Landry Jones?

Its times like the when I wonder if Bryant is more valuable than Bell because we have Williams. Bryant made Landry jones look good. We need his big play ability.

Brown is viewed as a top 3 Wr. Bell is viewed as a top 3 Rb. Both should be able to contribute with our without Ben if they are truly that good.

Well see what type of game Haley calls.

Brown needs to become the ultimate team player here. He needs to NOT argue and plead for the ball the whole time out there. Laundry is going to have his hands full without that **** going on. Don't get me wrong, Antonio Brown can be the ULTIMATE receiver / team mate but he is going to have to want to be. Ben's seasoning and presence I'm sure had an affect on AB but now it's the new kid and maybe he screams for the ball and that's what AB is going to have to tone down.

Salute the nation

Off topic a little but why isn't Tomlin letting Green practice? He was eligible to practice on Wednesday and was ready but Tomlin didn't let him practice. He said he did some things on his own. Not sure what Tomlin's reasons are for this. I'd get him practicing now. This basically means they lose this week to make the decision to bring him back. The team only gets 3 weeks to make that decision and he's not practicing in week 1 of that window.

You mean like when Bell carried the Steelers when Ben was hurt last year

Bryant over Bell? LMAO. I would take Bell over Brown. All day. Bell is clearly the best player on this team and Its not even close.

Who knows. I think it's likely though.

this game is extremely important to Laundry.

He's at the end of his contract. He's a FA after this season. His best hope is to come in and set the world on fire. There are some teams who may want to look at him and may offer him a decent contract, but this game is his springboard. If he comes in, has a good game and then Ben comes back, it will, at best, trick some GMs into thinking Laundry can be something if he has sufficient practice time with starters.

He's cursed. San Diego has been a team cursed with injuries and we infected our team with one of them

Steelers notebook: 'No timetable' for TE Green's return

As he has been since July 28, Green remains on the physically unable to perform list after offseason ankle surgery.

WHEATON, OTHERS OUT

Markus Wheaton's left shoulder continues to affect him this season. The receiver did not practice Wednesday three days after he missed his third game of the season because of it.

Tackle Marcus Gilbert, safety Shamarko Thomas and running back DeAngelo Williams also did not practice. Starting safeties Robert Golden (foot) and Mike Mitchell (knee) and linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee) were limited participants.

I'd take Bell over Bryant as well, but I'll take Ben over Bell

I'd take Bell over Ben at this point of their careers..in the sense of who I want to be the focal point of the offense. Bell doesn't fumble and the running game is safer and Ben could execute play action passes for big plays. Our pass first system we have now doesn't compliment the run the way a strong running game would compliment the pass..

I'd take Ben over anyone.

Two of my biggest gripes of our offense is:

1). No (or hardly any) play action pass. Early in Ben's career, when we had the Bus and Fast Willie, our play action pass was deadly. Defenses HAD to stop the run or it was over. We hardly use it now, even though we have a stud RB.

2). Empty backfield. WHY let the defense know they don't have to defend the run?

Definitely not talking in the sense of who I would choose in a draft scenario..I'm talking about who I want to be the main cog of the offense. Run the ball. Your no 1 is what w should be doing more of..Bell doesn't fumble..we have the online to dominate and still would have the shotgun stuff in our pocket to go to if needed. All this empty stuff is putting a lot of pressure on Big Al. He would look better in a run first scheme. And lastly our beleaguered defense won't be on the field so quickly

I get what you're saying, but without Ben, the run game is going to be the main focal point of every defense now. With Ben you can't just concentrate on the run or pass, and that's without Bell still.

Wasn't Bryant in those games too? Now Bryant is gone. That was my point.

We have a good run blocking OL. We shall see if Bell lives up to his star stauts.

I have some doubts he'll be as good running it. Teams will play the run, and doubling AB, knowing full well Coates with his hand issues, James, DBH, and Wheaton are not likely to be factors. With Jones at Quarterback, we'll be putting often, unless he throws an interception.

Back in the day, Bettis used to win games with iffy QB's.

Tomlin will run the wheels off Bell, slamming him up the gut over and over till he gets hurt again - you watch

Stubborn Steelers say they won't change their gameplan with Landry in there? They should be running more screens to Bell out of the backfield like other teams do!

yeah especially when our tackles are getting their ***** handed to them, slip Bell out of the backfield.

Landry will spread it around and make bad throws to everyone. It will be impossible to identify differences in receiver talent.

Jones isn't playing Brady.

Jones has had a full week of practice with the starters.

Jones knows if he doesn't play well Sunday his NFL career is essentially over.

If Jones allows the pressure to get to him he's done. If he stays cool don't be surprised if he shocks the world.

Jones could have the game of his career and we'd still lose by double digits because our defense.

Take the Pats**** and the points all day long.
