Say what you want about Haley, but the Wildcat was a brand new wrinkle that San Diego had zero study time for. Kudos for putting it in, getting some success with it, and taking some pressure off of Vick's shoulders because of it.

FYI, 2 strait games with Vick and no TOs! I know there could have been 2 tonight, but Wheaton made a great play on one to become a defender and stop it.

I guess the Wildcat would be considered a new wrinkle for this year but Leveon has run that a good amount of times for us since he's been in the league.

Vick looked bad but like you said, no turnovers and we got the win so i'll take it.

Wouldn't mind seeing Le'Veon throw one out of that formation.. Keep 'em honest

Only in the right situation. Trick pass plays are best between the 40s, as the risk is less if the play blows up.

Haley is ultra conservative... he just doesn't like putting the ball in the air... He does draw up good plays though... he just needs leaned on to keep balance in the playcalling

Did you see the majority of Vicks throws? I wouldn't want to put it in the air either, he was late, off target, or just blind on many of his throws. This offense doesn't fit his skillset, and changing the entire offense for a back up QB is not an easy task.

A new wrinkle that gained us very little. I know the last play of the game won but running that play from 4 yards behind the line is not the best play to run. You are at the 1 foot line. If you can't QB sneak it in 9 out of 10 times, you have serious issues. We have always sucked and shied away from the QB sneak even though it is the high percentage play. That play was a huge gamble. If we didn't have the best RB in the game, we don't score on that play, period. And, even he almost didn't get in.

If our top RB correctly read the defense, he would have seen no one on the left side of the field. The play should have been one step right, and cut back to the left pylon. He would have been untouched. Fortunately, his ability gave us a though TD on a poor read.

Moving forward, in wildcat, I'd like to see Vick split wide right. Bell takes the handoff right and reverse to Vick for a run/pass option.

Bell and Williams are two very good backs to do the wildcat. Not say I want to see alot of it when Ben is back, but while Vick is in there............

Yes he made that play much harder. Could of bounced it for an easy TD. Just another example of in the heat of the moment players sometimes mis read things

Maybe we'll see the triple option next week. Maybe even the fumblerooski

Using it was a good wrinkle and if Bell or Williams could now throw the ball would be even better.

I'm glad we didn't have to wait too long for the wildcat. I mentioned my hope for it before we played the Ravens. Especially since it was a short week for Vick. But, non the less it was rolled out this week and I hope Haley has a plan to build off of it. Bell is such a talented RB. The counter traps and his patience really work well. You immediately has the ball in his hands and always the offensive line to do its work. I don't care if it's a 1 yard gain for a TD or 4 yards and a cloud of dust. It'll be a matter of time when Brown is handed the ball on the jet sweep which should also become a positive play.
