No surprise in his answer. My main contention is that it isn't like our run game had been particularly effective either despite HCMT's confidence in the short game. Maybe we shoulda punted instead - Berry was having a great day. :becky:

Actually, I'm kinda impressed he sorta threw special teams under the bus. He said, "They sucked yesterday. We went another direction." Pretty much a full on slap in the face of the ST coach.

I have to say, Tomlin is currently countering ALL the things that drive me ******* nuts about him. Sure, I'd like the team to start out much faster, and I think Fichtner is in so deep over his head his *** is speaking Chinese, but frankly, Tomlin et. al. have done better this year with halftime adjustments, dealing with adversity and yesterday, they even managed to overcome their penchant for losing to **** teams they are supposed to dominate.

At some point, Fichtner better figure out what Ben and the offense do really well and start calling that ****, because it's really really looking like the team can't do **** unless they go muddle-huddle. Maybe it's just because they force the defense to stick with a personnel package and Ben is able to take advantage with regularity, but Jeebus, Randy, can you get something ******* right?

He lived in his fears. The thing is- you don’t call a run to outside on 4th and 1. You put Mongo back at fullback and Conner behind him and go straight ahead. That would’ve converted the down.
Hats off to the Dallas ST for exposing the weakness. Baltimore exposed the defense unable to cover the zone run scheme and taking advantage of running to the nose right at Buggs.

Meh I like the conspiracy theory that Tomlin learned how to goad vegas into having the refs favor us by playing in a way that shifts all the money to their opponents

But the truth is we play in our fears... hey i love aggressive playcalling , but lets not mince words... our special teams sucked and Tomlin would rather have risked the d holding a field with 40 ticks left than our st successfully making a field goal then covering a kickoff without giving up a block or punt

I have less of an issue going for than I do the play call. Go big and power it up the middle or try the jet sweep, or since the clock was going to stop for the change of possession anyway...put the ball in Ben's hands and let him attempt a pass

Two weeks in a row the offense needed 1 yard to ice the game. 0-2. Tomlin may also be thinking that we will need a critical 3rd or 4th and 1 at another time this year.

I agree with the above A>B or put in Ben's hands.

Kick the field goal. It was the only legit call, IMO

Good news is he has 8 more games to figure it out until the post season.
