He’s clearly been one of the only bright spots on offense. I wonder with Rudolph under Center we will see an uptick in targets. If you watched them in the preseason at all you can see they have a connection.

Because Tomlin didn't play him, had nothing to do with who was under center. Washington caught passes from Ben, Rudolph and Dobbs in the preseason.

Coach T. has a pedigreed 'above the neck' player in Mongrief!

But he seemed to be missing for quite a while sunday. I didn't look to see his snap count, so it may just be he was not being targeted.

If he wasn't on the field, you have to wonder why.

Whether he gets on the field more now, may be more to give Rudolph comfort than anything to do with Washington.

He wasn't on the field much in NE either. He played more Sunday, but he was still behind Moncrief, even when Rudolph went it, then Moncrief was benched because he can't catch, then I'm sure Washington's snap count went up after that.

I thought I heard that Washington had the 2nd most snaps behind JuJu vs Seattle.

To me the the guy who needs more snaps ASAP is Dionte Johnson. The steelers desperately need a quick WR who can take the WR screens and get open on the quick routes. That’s why Switzer has gotten so many targets.

I don’t care if Johnson is fully ready. Let him make his mistakes because he’ll also make some plays along the way and he’s the only slot type WR the steelers have besides JuJu

It was nothing more than a coach in over his head, and not being able to evaluate talent. He was playing the odds that a vet WR gave them the best option. You will never convince me that Moncrief wasn’t dropping balls in practice.

Cool Shades took a gamble, and failed miserably. Washington will now get his chance. Cool Shades has no choice now.

This is now a young team, might as well get it started. The sooner they make the mistakes, the sooner they get over them.
