What the hell seems to be the hold up? He is a 3rd round pick for ***** sake. Not like he is Eli Manning.

He's been at the practice facility. He'll be signed before camp on the 28th. No worries at all. He really has no choice. His salary is slotted.

Which further begs the question why he hasn't signed.

There cannot be that many contractual details for a 3rd round rookie to work out.

Someone said possible "playing time" squable. This is one of those inside things we may never know the extent of. Although the contract isn't nearly as complex as a high profile 2nd contract there are still nuonces to be considered.

They (FO front office) know they need to get this thing done and I'm betting GREEN knows the predicament as well.

Playing time and any incentives tied to it seem like rather petty and insignificant things for a rookie to be arguing about this late in the process.

I'm not going to bash the kid for trying to get as much as he can, but he really has no leverage as his salary is capped by the league, unless he and his agent are trying to use the Steelers weakness at center to pull some extra language into the contract in terms of incentives and options.

Camp starts in 5 days. Thursday the 22nd. The 28th is the first practice that will be open to the public.

I find it really hard to believe they are more than 100k apart on incentives. If they expect him to start year one, treat him like a drafted starter. If he is legitimately competing for a starting position, meet in the middle.

I also read somewhere that it is tied to the incentives. It is being said that he also wants 100% of his slotted salary. Players around him are getting like 98%, not to mention I thought I read only 4 or 5 of all the 3rd round picks have signed?

if this is accurate then it explains a lot. The third rounders feel like they are not being treated fairly as a whole and there is some kinda glitch in their contracts.

All I could find was older info. It had 26 of 40 3rd rounders unsigned. But for example it had Trey Lance unsigned so I have nonidea of accuracy.

Trey Lance and Zach Wilson are still unsigned along with 5 other 1st rounders. Must be the same shenanigans; disagreements on incentives.

I dunno, Joe Green(e) is kinda old for a comeback and Kevin Green(e) is dead.

Did he ever take a snap? :ROFLMAO:
I thought the guy had a chance to carve out a nice career with the Steelers. Just never know what trajectory you are getting with these free agents.
