Why has Bell had a tough time running the ball lately?

Bell has not had a 100 yard game for the past five games.

He has fumbled twice ( a rarity for him ). He has only scored one rushing touchdown on the ground for the season, and his yards per carry has not been great either.

Past five games YPC. 3.3, 5.3, 3.9, 2.3, and 3.4. The 5.3 is very nice, but it also happened in a game where he had the fewest rushing attempts, just 10 to be exact.

Are the coaching calling the wrong plays?

How much is the OL to blame?

Should Bell be more of a one cut guy?

of course they suck

yes they suck

of course he should he has always sucked at the patient runner thing he needs to become a 1 cut guy right now

I do out alot on the O-line, they get very little push, but Bell sometimes misses the hole because he's stutter stepping to much.

The truth was right in front of us. The next time our Oline opens a gaping hole will be the first in awhile.. We watched the difference in the Dallas Oline and ours

I think at least part of it is play calling. They are really one foot in and one out about trying to let him take over a game and really predictable. Lets be honest. The offense was a lot more explosive with Dwill in there but that is not necessarily all Bell's fault. It just looks like the timing and flow just aren't there matching his skill set. I thought he was great against Chiefs/ Jets and looked very good considering circumstances against the Pats. Ravens no (but they stacked against), thought he could have done more as a runner yesterday.

True - and they continue to demand he run straight up the gut over and over hoping he can find a hole every time. Just line up and play smashmouth, cuz we're the STEELERS!

huff huff

chest bump!

Look at the number of carries he is getting, look at the line play, look at play calling. When you go bombs away on 1st & 2nd down, chances are he is not getting it on 3rd. We also have really only 1 WR at this point, rather easy to double or triple Brown and continue to send the other 8-9 guys each play.

Exactly my point on drafting offense. For all the people saying our offense is stacked, it isn't. We have 1 WR, 1 RB and Ben...that's it.

Oh, our OL isn't that good either

I think you're right. DWill kinds of softens up the defense a little

All I know is we had the ball first and goal inside the ten and he didn't touch the ball one time. Our ******** coaches are killing this team, Haley is making Arians look like a genius. The ten yard losing reverse was fantastic, wasn't it?

I liked the stretch plan on 3rd and short against a fast Dallas D and our stuck in the mud OL. That and the dumb *** screen pass with no blockers in front of the WR.

Our coaches are all dumb as **** with game time and situational coaching. Every person at the table in the bar knew Elliott was getting the ball on that last play to get a couple yards maybe and center it for a FG attempt. Everyone but our DC and sorry *** defense. He should have been walked out of the building with all of his personal **** as soon as the last second ticked off. They've been an embarrassment.

Zero holes.

^^This^^

If we do open a hole, none of our OL are getting to the second level allowing LB a free shot in the gap. Our OL is not nearly as good as people claimed it to be. Decastro has really regressed this year and Pouncey has been very average.

The oline has not played well this year in the running game. It seems they played harder and better when DW was in there.

With no holes, Bell needs to attack the line better, it's the one thing DW does better. However, I also think Haley has forced it too much to Bell since he came back and I believe he's done this because there is basically nothing at receiver outside of AB.

We have supposed Pro Bowl players at C and G but Pouncey and Decastro are not difference makers. i think we should get rid of Pouncey and move Decastro to C then get a more powerful run blocker at G.

This team has to pass to open up the run. Bell does take all day to move forward and that gives the defense time to converge on the play. I'm sure opponents do plenty of film study to know this. It's not rocket science.

That and they are very predictable. If I can call out when and where they are going to run before they do it.
I am sure a defense can.

They don't know who the hell they are. I cant fault the players so much as the coaching.

Last week they tried to play smash mouth with the Ravens for whatever reason.

I know Ben was coming back off injury but clearly the run wasn't working, and you could see Bell frustrated in the 3rd qtr. because he had no where to run & everyone in the world knew they were going to run.

He gets hit for a loss and they line up and run it again for a bigger loss.

They are just a bad football team right now.

people are trying to find out the reason why.

That's it. They are poorly coached and prepared.

Unmotivated, no depth, injured, bad drafting and player development, etc etc, etc,

Haven't played a complete game yet.

I will even go as far as saying a few of their early wins were more about what the other team did wrong not what they did right.

I'll never make fun of Jerry Jones the GM again. That mother ****** has built one hell of a team.

All those blocking machines drafted in the first round and landing Prescott in the fourth.

if that had been a pass play it was ****** too. The defender was right there.

Our awesome Oline has taken a step...or 2...backwards.

Because the blocking would have been the same regardless of the play call? No way to know what would have happened with a different play call. Trying to stretch out Dallas defense with outside runs and reverses plays right into their strength.
