Cause he provides veteran leadership. Underrated? Eh not really. He's not a lights out corner, but he does hold up

I say "underrated" because most of us thought he was straight up rubbish and a weak link to the D. Most of us belly ached when they signed him back from AZ.

Is he a pro bowl CB? No. Is he at least decent and makes the team better? Yes. Where is the secondary without him? In even worse shape.

I always defended Willie gay, he was a late 5th, people had too high expectations for such a limited guy, athletically speaking, yet he mastered the playbook and with experience became a very good player . Kudos to him

Gay is a No. 3 cornerback playing pretty well in a No. 1 role right now. He is a class guy to have on the team and it's great to see a fifth-round selection make such an impact. Hope he has a good season this year alongside Artie Burns in the starting lineup (hope the rookie earns the starting job).

Still trying to ruin every single thread? Still obsessed? Did I steal your girlfriend or something?

********, you start about 6 threads per day, and the football ones are all passive-aggressively parlayed.

Maybe you should just take your *Patsie On Parade show to the sidelines?

I can't wait for the nexting gushing Heath Evans thread....but it is the offseason, and you are more fun than the average shortbus Cheater fan.

smart savvy CB, good locker room guy, this stage speed is not the same so he uses his physicality and intagbles to his max. He is the best CB we have who has been successful at cutting underneath routes since Scott as his 6 int returned for TD`s when he undercuts a route he oftn reads the play very well by studying the qb, a few of his pick 6`s were result of poor passes. I think if Grant stays at CB he will end like William gay a decent 2 opposite of Burns with Golsen as the full time slot.

Best CB we have. Between a year in AZ and under the tutlege of Coach Lake, he is much better than he used to be.
But then I'm at the bar drinking Frankie's homemade coffee oatmeal stout from the basement, so I what do I know?

Savvy player who makes up for his physical shortcomings with smart play.

Frankie's homemade coffee oatmeal stout

WTF ?? I'm sorry Jonboy but that don't even sound like it's drinkable so I did some research....

I guess you are not the only one that drinks that stuff, and for breakfast no less....live and learn Chippy..live and learn.

Gay is pretty much the same player he has always been: a very good inside CB who will be exposed if asked to play on the perimeter too much.

He's similar to Deshea Townsend, but Townsend was faster and more athletic in his prime.
