Why are so many teams trading on the cheap this year?

This post seems to assume we (in collective) wished we traded for a WR. I am not among that contingent. Help at ILB or CB would have been nice. Whether we use Burnt or Sensablow at one corner spot is scary as hell.

My wishlist would have been peterson, but he apparently was not available. There was not much movement involved with ILBs and CBs. If a good one was available then that would have definitely been more of a need than WR. Of the trades that did happen I just feel Tate was a decent value.

Cope I fully agree but seem to never see the scheming you suggest. Am i missing or just not paying enough attention to it? I'll watch a lot closer this week. It seems in the past the STEELERS OCs were slow in trying this stuff but I also think in-game adjustments tend to be put on back burner too. In my defense, I watch MOST games in paradise at a sports bar and this VERY PRETTY RedHead manager always grabs my attention--span--.

Salute the nation

You know me DIC, I'm a WR freak and a personnel strategist. This OC is doing a much better job than Haley ever did subbing personnel.

He's running Switzer on slow ILB mismatches (did it a lot last Ravens game, so look for him to do it again this week). He's utilizing the 2/3TE concepts as well as the FB in running schemes. I haven't been upset with the WR usage, and understand why Washington was benched (since he and Hunter gave us the same production, but Hunter is so much better blocking at this time, that he's the better WR to use in a heavy run attack).

I'd hope to see Washington separate himself the next few weeks, but if Hunter starts producing deep, it will be tough for him to get back on the active roster.

There was talk about the Steelers trying to grab a 3rd WR, but they didn't make a move.

I agree ILB and CB would have been ideal, but none moved on trade day, so either no one was available, or they were both too expensive.

I'm hoping the benching lights a fire under Burns, because we are rolling with him, and he needs to step the **** up.

I think if Washington was going to do anything this season, he would have shown something by now. It's quite common for a rookie WR to be lost most of the season; Ju Ju was the exception. If AB, Ju Ju, McDonald and Hunter can hang in there - and a few passes to Conner - , we will be fine on O.
