Whose Your Darkhorse "I Don't Want This Guy Pick" At 1:24?

Four more days. I have a funny feeling about this draft. Just an "itch" that says they're trading up again this year. Tomlin's extension, Ben's 1 year contract, plenty of $$ to get some key FAs next year (not a lot of them, but "key" ones) ... It all says they're not just looking at this year.
I could be wrong. I mean they pretty much keep **** close to the vest every year. But .....
How long is that in Covid lockdown days ???? feels like forever

How do you think your boys are going to do in the upcoming draft and what round taken in ? Justin Fields, Josh Myers, Baron Browning and Pete Werner

Fields - 1:7 (Steelers via Detroit. Steelers trade this year's first, a fourth and next years first and third). j/k (kinda). Oh how the heads would explode around here though. Fields is definitely going in the first. Top 10. If he makes it past 10, Colbert better be making some calls.

Myers - Rnd 3
Browning - late 2nd to early third
Werner - Solid 3rd round prospect. Actually has a better floor than Browning based on more playing time than Browning at tOSU. Browning has the higher ceiling.

OH, and 4 regular days = 2 Covid Lockdown months. lol

There may have been a small suggestion or TEN along the way about Claypool if I remember correctly.... eh

What are you looking for SLASHMAN
... a 1st round prediction of any player available
or something with some Canadian flavour .... like a Chuba Hubbard taken outa the cupboard before round 4 pick 129 adding to another Cowboy taken at OT in the first.
You could be Right T .... I say possible Left T .......... or we could both be Wrong ....... me likes Tevin Jenkins better than any RT or LT currently on this team

Name the game
Just your favorite player in the draft it can be Canadian or other. I tell yinz what throw me one name of each. Is Chuba your favorite Canadian prospect?

I want a better explanation of "he played at Ohio State" for why people don't like Fields. He checks just about every box you could imagine and should be in contention as the No. 1 pick, not being debated if he'll drop below 3rd.
I agree. I feel like some **** stories were planted about Fields in hopes he'd drop. Maybe the Pats*. I see the 49ers taking him because 2 first round picks for Mac Jones seems like a lot.

Well Slash ....here is a list of the Canadian born dudes that I think will be drafted in this year's draft in order of highest draft position taken

Jevon Holland in the 2nd round
Alaric Jackson in round 3-4
Chuba Hubbard in round 3-4
Benjamin St-Juste in round 4
Joshua Palmer in round 7

Amen Ogbongbemiga is a Nigerian transfer to Canada ....maybe an undrafted FA

As for my guy this draft ......... I bleed Black&Gold & Crimson ........... I know drafting a RB in round one is not super popular .... but if Najee Harris is there at 24 it would be a hard decision not to take him. He hasn't played a down in the NFL but I am going to say he will be listed with the Derrick Henry, Shaun Alexander , Josh Jacobs & Mark Ingram group when it is all said and done. More than likely ranking 2nd all time in that group for a career. Do not confuse him with Eddie Lacy or the Trent Richardson talent level.
I always remember the great Jim Brown stating T. Richardson was nothing special shortly after Cleveland drafted him. Talent knows talent when they see it or not.

Another RB named HARRIS on the Steelers .... WOW
Maybe he can wear number 32eh ........ 32A for all you American Folks

The Countdown is on

my favourite CDN in this draft .... probably Jevon

It is equal to how much as I dont want Dickerson in the 1st round as to how much I would love him in the 2nd. I dont know why that is. injuries are the same in both rounds

I agree. Heck, I think the Jets should take him.

If Mac Jones falls I don't want him @1-24. Dickerson's a stud but those knee injuries on a center scare the crap out of me. Assante Samuel no in the first. Greg Newsome yeas in the first.

Yeah, Jones would piss me off too!

Alabama vs Ohio

Mac Jones 36/45 464 yards 5 TDs ......... sorry ... couldn't resist.......o_O
No problems. I love the Buckeyes as much as I love the Steelers. But, a few months after the season ends, I'm already looking ahead, not back.

I think there are several issues with taking Jones in the first (for the Steelers).
1. While he's a great pocket passer and has great awareness, he's lacking in most of the measurables in comparison to his draft mates.
2. Fair or not, I wonder how much of his success was "Mac Jones" and how much was "Mac Jones' teammates"?
3. If we're going to ding Fields for the lack of NFL success by other tOSU QBs, why does Jones get a pass. The book is still out on Tua and Hurts. And one wonders if Hurts improved abilities as far as reading a defense, etc. didn't happen as a result of working with Lincoln Riley. After those two you have the likes of Blake Barnett, Cooper Bateman, Jake Coker, Blake Sims, AJ McCarron and Greg McElroy.... not exactly a murderers row of QBs at the NFL level.

All in fun my man ..... I followed alot of the Buckeyes growing up as well. Waiting to see how Urban Meyer does this year.
All I knew was CFL until about 1977 cause I just couldn't receive American stations very well in the country with an antenna.
The CFL had a lot of guys from US Colleges that just didn't get the opportunities in the NFL they maybe should have. So I followed a lot of the bigtime programs who provided the CFL with talent. Guys like Tom Clements, Warren Moon, Ron Lancaster (you're welcome SASK-you owe Ottawa fans $500.00, George Reed, etc. were filtered to us in Canada. It is just not the same anymore in the CFL .....don't follow it much anymore...no season last year....

I agree the QB talent out of Alabama is more like a list of murderers "victims" row at the NFL level

We have Joe Namath, the Snake and wait for it .......crickets.... I hope that between Allen in Buffalo and Tua in Miami they are good enough to keep the Patriots out of the playoffs throughout their careers.. and Jalen Hurts me to say .... keeps pissing off the BOYS for years to come

Mac Jones and Trey Lance are complete wildcards. Either could be the best qb in the draft or a total bust. Lance didn't play last year and in a questionable conference. Mac Jones threw to guys three yards open and had a more than 5 yards per carry run game. No one knows what Either of those guys really is.

Kyle Trask. I've said my peace about him in another thread. He's going to be NFL backup material and nothing more IMO. If you're going to piss away a pick on a QB, then pick up Ian Book in the later rounds. Notre Dame's offense was a lot like the Steelers, drop back, run for your life, extend plays, and throw to talented WR's and TE's.

For the record, if they trade up to choose a QB I don't consider that "pissing away" a draft pick.

Also for the record, If they trade up to pick Kyle Trask I'll need another television because I'm throwing a brick through my existing one and setting it on fire

I saw that ************ Najee for too long in the SEC. So glad he's entering the NFL now.
that said, if he's there at 24, we take him. unless we can move down a couple spots and still take him.

If Dickerson is the pick at 24, the draft is over. no no no no no
Rather snag Trey Hill later in the draft for our Center of the future.

My vote is for ANYONE that Coach thinks will be the pick at 1.24...

IIRC he wanted Freirmuth so that's the guy I don't want.

Mac Jones is interesting. He may be a good system QB. Decent athleticism, decent arm strength, good decision maker.

Kinda like Mason Rudolph, only not as big and not quite the same arm strength.

Mac Jones is WAAAAAAY better than Rudy...decision making, accuracy and he played in the SEC (can't wait for Tape to react)!!!

Jones is very accurate. I get that some believe he is benefiting from an Alabama team with not one, but two elite WR prospects and a 1st round RB, but he hits receivers spot on. What, he should miss open receivers?

My issue is that he is not big, does not have a strong arm, is good-not-great. He is smaller, has less arm strength, is slower, and less nimble than Davis Mills, whom a team can get in the 3rd. Decision making matters - a lot. But so does being able to whistle a football at 55 mph across a field in the snow and wind.

Well Slash it could have been a very tough decision if the Vikes didn't take Darrisaw @23.
Leatherwood surprised me earlier than I thought he would go...

I know we never got around to betting this year on the 1st pick but I would appreciate another photo with a split shot to capture my Black/Gold/Crimson bloodlines. I will pay for it and shipping. I wore my Barry Foster Jersey and a black/crimson bandana for the draft ..... in hopes of getting the guy who will ultimately break the Steelers rushing record

Nothing left but to do it Mr Harris ........now lets get after that OL in 2 & 3 Creed/Dickerson Brown/Little

Who did you want a pic of?

I don't want Aaron Ruell. I don't see how he helps the team even long term. I think his ceiling is way way too low.
