Who Will be the Best Safety Tandem in 2019?

Davis is entering his 4th season, he had a whopping ONE interception last season. If you are going to be worth dipping sauce, you would do more in your 1st 3 seasons. Entering his 4th season
and we are still waiting for him to suddenly get good. If it hasn't happened yet, it's not going to. Wasted 2nd round pick. Could have taken Kevin Byard who has had 12 picks in the last 2 seasons.

Oh, but Colbert is the smartest man in the room, so we are told.

When I showed that Davis rates very low on 3rd party data web sites such as pro football focus, or compare his lack of interceptions and pass defensed to other NFL safeties, he comes out in the high 60's at his position. Mix in thw fact that he leads the team in missed tackles and what else can you say?

More often than not, the ball is thrown his way because the receiver is open then he engages. He also drops easy interceptions.

Why the Steelers didn't draft a development safety is a good question.

Sean Davis makes Ryan Clark ( A solid player ) look like an All Pro.

4 years in, Davis is who he is. I'm more interested to see if Edmunds develops. The rookie lacked awareness and was a little stiff in coverage, but he's fast and has upside. He won't be a rookie this season. We'll see.

As a rookie both Reid and Bates were better than Edmunds in my opinion.

Bottom line with our pass rush, safeties should be making more plays.
