Who wants to Coach the Panthers?

Well at one time he was considered for the STEELERS head coaching position. ANY takers now?

I'm betting there is better out there but as Cam Newton is regressing thus the coaching regresses a s well.

Salute the nation

Actually Rivera is Hispanic, and when the Rooneys interviewed him, they satisfied the Rooney Rule. The Rooney Rule requires interviewing a minority, not a Black. You could interview a Samoan and satisfy the rule.

I’m aware he’s Hispanic. Hence the joke. If you must interview a minority before you can hire a white guy, then the reverse would be....

BTW, somebody should remind the media that minority does just not mean black. They celebrated Dungy being the first black coach to win the SB like it was breaking down a barrier, but Tom Flores of Mexican descent already won 2 SBs with the raiders in the early 80s.

Rivera with the Panthers this year was very comparable with Tomlin and the Steelers. Both QBs went out after the first game, the difference being Carolina started off hot with Allen, winning four games in a row before losing 5 of 6 games. Of course, Tomlin was 1-4 before the Steelers won 6 of 7.

I think Rivera is a pretty good coach and probably earned the right to at least finish the season out.

Is he a "white Hispanic "? (Mainstream media word)..

And I would contend that CAR had more talent on D going into this season.

So now Coach Tomlin has outlasted all of the people who were supposed to replace Cowher:
Rivera
Whiz
Grimm - Never a HC

And yes, He would have done better than all of those guys.

"He" who? Grimm??? I wanna know if I'm about to fall out my chair laughing...

Close relative of mine who is a lifetime fan of CAR has indicated that Tepper has, since buying the team, orchestrated a methodical process to put his stamp on the franchise. He will be hiring an Asst GM to go along with the GM already there (Hurney). Rumor is he may make a run at Colbert. I doubt it, since being an Asst GM would be a demotion (in title only), and some of the beat writers have said Colbert wants to spend more time with his grandkids and family.

So CAR, may be looking for not only a new coaching staff, but a new QB as well.

I'd do it for 300k a year... I'd also guarantee the 1st overall pick in the following years draft.

Except that there are now more Hispanics in the U.S. than blacks, meaning that blacks are the minority minority and Hispanics are the majority minority.

And asians are an even smaller minority. No special treatment for them? Why isn't Al Sharpton bitching about that? Oops. Sharpton will only trumpet for blacks, not minorities.

Rivera will be a hot commodity for a lot of bad teams. If he wants to carry on coaching that is.

I don't think Todd Haley is doing anything at the moment.
