Who remembers watching the last Miami/Steelers playoff game?

It was back in 85 and Malone was at the helm. That's about all I can remember.

We beat Miami in the playoffs in 79 between 72 and 85
 
I remember Stallworth got 2tds. I thought we were going to beat the Dolphins easily

I was a bit to young for that one, but remember the '79 divisional well.
 
I can remember the second Super Bowl against Dallas, and the Rams and for some reason remember Bradshaw's last game against the Jets. Who remembers the myna bird? I do not remember much about that 85 playoff game. I was 16 and worked part time so I might have been working at the time. Doubt VHS/Beta was in the framework back then. :)

Same here. Steelers dominated until that damn fake punt.
 
I don't remember the game specifically but I'm old enough that I probably did watch it.
 
One for the thumb...I remember the game. Webby and Lipps. Donnie Shell. Pollard and Abercrombie. Marino blew up in the 2nd half.

So you remember the game, but not the difference between Marino and Malone?
 
Malone started out well and had a ton of potential but was never the same after he tore his knee up.
 
Ugh....I remember (I was in Tech School at Sheppard AFB). AFC Championship game and Malone had 2 or 3 INTs. The kicker was the Steelers were the only team to beat San Francisco that year and they did it at Candlestick. Had they beat Miami they would have played the 49ers for the trophy.
 
Central Catholics own Danny Marino took down the hometown heros...

I recall him taking control of what was a tightly held contest...

After that playoff loss...it was "slim pickens" for awhile..

It definitely was. This is off topic but after those miserable years and awful start to the 89 season, I can remember the wild wild card game against the Oilers down in the Astrodome on New Years eve and then the close game against Denver. I remember punching a wall after that loss. We were so close to moving onto the AFC Championship.
 
Can't say I watched it... back then I was working my way through college so spent most of my weekends at the local department store.

I DID work in the home entertainment department, so likely had all the TVs set to the game. It's just not something I quite remember.

Hoge was unstoppable, Brister had a great game ... until the late pick.

Yeah, I remember that one. Always wondered what would have happened if the QB situation was reversed. That was Marino's first year in the league and they went to SBXIX and got creamed by the 49ers, whom we had already beaten in the regular season.

Man, brings back memories of when I used to miss games because of working. That was awful. Fortunately those days are behind me, and my wife and kids understand that those 51-60 hours a year the steelers are playing are "my time." They get the rest of the year, whatever they want.
