Cortez Allen or Blake at Cornerback.

James Harrison or Jarvis Jones at Outside Linebacker?

They're still working the waiver wire. Yikes!!!!

Jones, Allen and Thomas will likely start and all will be on rather short leashes. Thomas likely the shortest. Allen will be tested. Jones is going to platoon at Linebacker with Harrison so his play or lack there of will be less conspicuous.

You guys don't know ****. Jarvis and Moats will start at OLB. Blake and Gay are the starting CBs. Will Allen is going to start at SS.

Blake starting over boykins or gay? Put down the crackpipe

Tell ya who's starting...it's gonna be me! Im gonna start drinking about an hour before the game, and then when SN freezes up after 10 pages, i'll stay away from Twitter and actually watch the game.

Im hoping the Steelers decide to show up and play tackle, and not just 2 hand touch.

Works for me. You get burned for six, I just get blocked.
Maybe you are a larger human being than the rest of us. It would be rather embarrassing to continually get beat for a TD. However, I'm thinking anyone on that line could launch me at least 5 -6 feet. That wouldn't be too good.

Yeah, I'm a pretty big dude. Years back people used to ask me where I played. But that was then and this is now.

5-6 feet? Hmmmm that could get us a flag.

So you are saying our 4th corner and back up Safety in 2014 are now starting in 2015. If Tomlin wants respect from the players Harrison should start over Jones. Lord knows James has earned it and he had the better pre-season.

cb's: Allen, Gay . . .with Gay moving to the slot and Blake taking the outside in passing situations. Will Allen will start at SS

olb's: Jones, Moats . . .with Deebo and Dupree platooning in. I expect Jones to be on a short leash if he struggles.

Blake has no business being in the starting lineup on Thursday.

Agreed. I would rather Boykin. I like Blake's grittiness. But he should play slot

I am not sure Blake can play slot effectively. He has even mentioned he is more comfy on the outside.

Boykin,Gay, and Allen might very well be more suited for the slot. Problem is you need to "above the line" outside corners.

Out of all three Gay and Blake might be the most comfy on the outside. But Boykin has a desire to play there.

If Blake stumbles look for Boykin to get some looks there early.

If I was a Steelers coach I might stick Allen in the slot and leave him there. Early in his tenure he seemed pretty comfy there.

Allen in the slot...I just don't get this line of thinking from you guys. He's not better suited for the slot, and he's never been a slot corner. He's always been on the outside. He's not suited for the slot even in the slightest bit...

100% agree. Allen is not a quick footed type which is what you need in the slot. What is Tomlin thinking?!

I think Blake's small size in the slot can be helpful somewhat. Most slot receivers run those short underneath routes. Blake's skills can prosper there. I like Gay/Boykin on the outside just cause I feel they are better overall in man coverage. Just my opinion however

Blake has never played the slot, only the outside and on one side of the field.

Guys, Cortez is going to cover Gronk. That's why Gay and Blake are the "starting" CBs.

That said, I have no idea why some of you (Coach, mostly) get so obsessed over who "starts". Gay, Blake and C. Allen are all going to play a ton. James Harrison will get plenty of snaps even if Jarvis technically starts.

Al,

Cortez was badly badly by the Browns TE for six last season. I'd rather let Shazier cover Gronk as he's faster, more physical and has better confidence. The last confidence part is strictly my opinion, but last season Allen lost his.

The starting player usually gets more snaps, and sets the tone. That is why I care who starts. IMO Harrison should start, as he's the better player and has leadership qualities.
