Shazier has bigger worries than football. Dirty Red is already banged up. Keith Kelsey is a logical roster sign at the moment. The way Sensabaugh played I would not cut Brian Allen. My guess is Big Dan finally gets the Ax.

Yeah, I think it's gotta be Big Dan. Or maybe Justin Hunter.

Who is our backup after Shazier and Dirty Red? Shazier we know will miss time and it sounds like Dirty Red is out too. Williams will have to play all downs now. Can Chicklo or Moats play ILB?

I thought I saw some Chickillo at ILB after Matakevich went down. Losing the starter and his backup in the same game isn't good for the defense.

We will definitely see a roster move this week

The move should be Watt inside to ILB and Harrison starting at OLB.

I think Watt has the best range and football IQ to pull off moving to the middle and calling the D. Plus this should put Harrison on the field, giving us the 4 best LBs we could have on the field at the same time.

move Chick inside. activate ....

You are wise, sir.

I agree, in general. However, if they are going to continue to use the ILB (Gay did it after losing two) to get people into position, they may prefer Chick to do that as he, should, know more about where everyone else is supposed to be more than Watt. It might be that Williams can do it, but I'd rather him keep playing the way he is and not have to worry about others.

Thought I saw Fort out there?

You did. I'm not saying Fort is great but I liked what I saw out of him before in the pre-season games. Who gets bumped?

Maybe Coty Sensabaugh, now that Sutton is back.

Give Fort time to understand alignment. Put Chick inside as competition/ backup. Activate Silverback. Get better Ryan.

Sensabaugh isn't going anywhere. He will be back starting this week on the outside.

So do they sign someone off the street or roll with what they have? I did a quick look at available free agent ILB's and came across these names:

Perry Riley
Sio Moore
Sean Spence
Rolando McClain
Daryl Washington

Of course there are many more, but I chose the ones that ranked the highest- which at this time if year is not great. Are any if them worth a look? I am really only familiar with Spence.

None of our ILBs can cover, so on passing downs maybe let Watt be the only ILB, dress Harrison, let him be an edge rusher.

I think this is the best thing to consider as well. Play some sort of modified 3-4 that leaves Harrison as a pass rusher/run defender. I saw a lot of poor edge-setting last night.

I'd be fine grabbing Spence. He's fast, knows the system, and can cover.

or plug Deebo in the middle and end ... END ... those long runs up the gut.
