I’d like to see Allar start, but I’m not sure what it would prove. I can’t imagine either team starting anyone they don’t want to risk to injury so he’d pretty much be playing with the same guys as last week. This is the last game before the regular season. They pretty much know who they’re keeping and cutting at this point. Might be a fringe guy or two they want to get another look at, but who starts this game makes no difference as it will be all scrubs all the time.

My concern with that is we came into this season not knowing what Howard could do in game action because he didn't play in the preseason. Allar is McCarthy's pick and he'll almost certainly want to see his guy take over at QB. I know a lot of starters will be sitting, but I still think there'll be better competition with some NFL players in the first half. I want to see Allar play against better competition more than play with better talent on offense.

i agree allar is staying. His day is way yet to come. Next year. His future is certain. Howards is not. I dont know that it matters which half howard plays. Only starting he has a chance to redeem himself for last week. IF he doesnt start,, and he does well, it will be "oh he was against the scrubs in the 2nd half"

Allar is the guy McCarthy drafted. They need to evaluate him this year to determine if they draft a QB in the 27 draft which is supposed to be a good QB class. But they said that last year about this 26 class.

Put the time into developing Allar, who can develop into a top starter, rather than Howard who will likely top out as a backup or mediocre starter.

Besides, Howard fans should not want him to play much so the steelers can keep him on practice squad.
