Assuming Vander Esh is off the board ( I suspect he will be ), who do you want from the below players that might be available at pick #28.

Safety. Reid

Safety. Harrison

Linebacker. Evans

OLB/Edge Key

OLB/Edge Hubbard

Defensive Tackle / Nose Tackle Payne

Running back. Pick between Chubb, Guice, or Michel.

Quarterback Rudolph

Quarterback Jackson

Reid, the guy is a playmaker

I'd still go Evans. ILB is still our No. 1 area of need, by far. Evans is the best ILB left on the board and a borderline 1st rounder. He would be my pick.

After Evans it seems ILB drops off considerably. Hard to pass on Reid though.

Evans stock is down with injuries, not testing well on some drills, and not running a 40. Alabama guys can be tougher to evaluate due to the talent around them.

I'd go with Reid. Great speed, hands, and fits what the NFL demands to defend the pass.

Da'Ron Payne. And let our DC be the DC

Evans.....ILB is the biggest need and he will start

Or mitchell if we were to re sign him

I'm telling you, with all of these tweener players, we may go QB Rudolph, WR Tate, or TE Gesecki.

Tate and Gesecki could contribute this year.

I agree on both points. I like Reid but I think our S position is in much better shape right now. We still need a starter at ILB. The dude we picked up may or may not be better than what we currently have on the team but not by much.

If we get Bell to sign and extend, I go with Harrison.
if we cannot get Bell to sign and extend, I go Michel.

Don't get me started on Gesicki. I would love the pick. This year, if we had Gesicki and a healthy McDonald, holy **** would D's not know what to do with that along with AB, JuJu and Bryant at WR and probably Bell at RB. Holy ****! I get a woody just thinking about that. Ben probably does too. 40 points a game should be commonplace.

I agree Rudolph is definitely a consideration though would be an unpopular pick with the fan base and Gesicki I believe is underrated. His blocking is abysmal but as a receiver could be Jimmy Graham. Ben would love him.

I'm with you. I think Rudolph is a project, but would be the replacement for Ben in 3 years. Not a sexy pick, but one that franchises do that want to win over time.

And true Gesecki is a receiver first, and would have to learn how to block at this level.

Gesicki is not in the OP, I assumed he wasn't available

Rudolph projects as a late 1st to 2nd round type of guy.

Here's the thing, if there were not four other QB's going before pick #12 in round one this year, he could be viewed as a mid-round type of prospect.

We won't be picking before pick #16 in 2019...unless Ben is hurt.

Reid and then Jefferson in rnd 2

My problem with Reid is i don't know if his support for the "taking a knee" crowd is just verbal or if he will partake in that "protest". I guess if we take him and he joins the "take a knee" crowd, it will save me money on Sunday Ticket.

IMO, if we were eyeing Reid, we'd have signed his brother already and instead of Burnett.
That, to me, suggests that the activism **** and locker-room stuff is taking a lot of attention in our assessments. It also suggests, though it may not be clear, that the FO does not view him as a likely target.
