So, who are the BPA'S in the 2nd round and who do you like? I think they have to go WR but to get someone who has a chance to play significant snaps, they need to trade way up in the 2nd to grab someone - preferably a decent size guy with speed, good hands and can get RAC. They need that good slot guy (still could be Roman but not if Rodgers plays as he won't throw to him). They don't need another big WR as they already have their two big starters.

What say you?

Boston is a big guy but they can't trade to the top of the 2nd round to get him. I've seen Bell as a potential. Branch from GA is too small. We need a good slot guy around 6' with speed and good hands. I don't know who that is but they need to get their WR in Rd. 2. Use a 3rd or 4th rounder to trade up. That's why they have so many picks, In the 1st, there were teams trading 5th round picks to move up a few spots. So, a 3rd or 4th rounder trade bait in the 2nd should move them up 10 spots or so. Let's see what they got as the OT they took in 1 probably won't play this year. They need to land a few starters with their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks.

Based on the grades ESPN and some other draft sites are putting on players, there are a lot of potential 2nd round WR's

3rd round looks to be where we should be targeting a Guard and Safety and maybe a CB (or another WR).

Again, I'm all of a sudden seeing everyone have us draft a QB in round 2 (Beck or Nussmeier), but I am hoping that doesn't happen.

BPA.
We need help ALL over.
Just need a talent infusion.
I like that Weidle favors the trenches, as I believe that's where games are won.
But with our current roster, the only position we're really set at is TE.

I would like to see them trade up in 2 to get a better BPA option. I can see them standing pat and picking four picks though…

I think many teams still want/need QBs and will overpay in round 2. Hope the Steelers are not one of those teams, but I'd be really surprised if they do not go QB on Day 2.

One of these guys is going to be available at 53:

WR Denzel Boston
WR Germie Bernard
G Chase Bisontis
G Emmanuel Pregnon
LB Jacob Rodriguez
S Treydan Stukes
S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren

Stukes is older than most prospects at 25 but is an excellent cover S with elite speed. Good chance both WR's fall off before 53 to time to use the zillion later picks to move up and get one of those guys. G waits until the 3rd round, where the Steelers have 3 picks.

I only see stukes available at 53 unfortunately, well maybe Bernard too

Oh ye of little faith...

Germie Bernard

I think he will be a very good NFL WR. Good hands, not afraid of contract, really good footwork and route-running. Steelers may have to climb up to get him, but worth it. Who the hell needs three 3rd round picks?

Target Bernard. Let's start a trend here, Litos - Hey Steelers, Weekend at Bernie's!!

Yes i think Stukes is a great option and a darkhorse underrated S prospect in some circles.

I would really like the Steelers to use some of those Rd3 picks, and our Rd2/21 pick to move way up and get a good 'slot' type receiver. Boston is the best out there, but he is a bigger WR, and we have those already.

Germie Bernard is my first choice, would also like to see the Steelers trade for an additional second to get AJ Haulcy.

Use a 4th to move up a handful of spots in the 2nd or use a 3rd and move toward the top of the 2nd round. They have extra picks. Get a guy they need who can start right away. They look to be 0-1 for immediate starters, but the 1st round pick could surprise, especially if Jones is going to be out.

They need a 6-foot speedster with good hands who can play the slot. Decent size with good speed and good hands. Or, they can hope Roman is that guy and Rodgers will get off his high horse and throw him the dang ball. Dude was open quite often on the few snaps he did get but Rodgers mostly ignored him.

Denzel Boston, I like him better than Lemon
McCarthy did say he wants his WR's to be able to play all positions. So, they could go with Boston as DK can run slants across the middle. They really need a true possession guy that just gets open and gets 1st downs. A guy named Hines comes to mind. Someone like him.

My concern was he was like what they already had in the room.

But I think he has more potential outside in comparison.

Agreed, but DK and Pittman both turn 30 I think this season, and DK being the 4th highest paid WR, I see us getting out of that contract as soon as we can, especially if he's catching 58 passes for 850yards and 6 TD's, we're definitely not getting what we're paying for there.

Stukes would be a popular choice in the Zona household and take away some of the sting from the ASWho first round pick :ROFLMAO:

But, BPA, lots of holes to fill to make this team competitive.

Did you watch his play? Thoughts to share ? All info would be great

All of my money when to the U of A, so my kids have a much better perspective. He is quick with good hands and football knowledge.
It wouldn't be the worst pick they could make. I have a feeling that there will be a run on secondary players today, but again this team has lots of holes, so a slot receiver, ILB, DL, CB are all in play. Hey, who knows, maybe the new staff will actually know how to draft a CB.
