If they drafted Marino it is unlikely they would have had the same Olines and defences in the 90s as they would have had different draft picks.

possible, but one thing Cowher proved was he could build a roster and he believed in a good OL and D, it may not have been the same players, but still would've been pretty good.

Oh dear Lord in heaven I never thought about that! My head always see's Marino playing in the 80's for some reason. Having him in there with Thigpen, Mills, CJ as weapons...world beaters with that offense'/defense.

That was why I brought up my earlier point. If they had drafted Marino, they likely don't go 6-10 in 1986 and draft Woodson 10th overall in 1987.

In 1988 Dermontti Dawson maybe doesn't fall to the Steelers 2nd round pick.

Same with Lake in 1989.

You can't just plug Marino into those teams that were built off of bad seasons.
