Where is Cope ?

When I turned 50 I trained hard to bench 225 × 10. After that I said **** it. Slow and steady. Im not going to fight someone unless I or someone I love us attacked. I coach football dont play it. Im not gonna die or tear up my body for that ****. Just my 54 year old advice.
I turn 65 this Thursday. For my birthday I will attempt to flat bench 300 lb. I can one-rep 275 on incline bench. This will most likely be the last time I try it.
If I can pull this off, I will have the world record for the skinniest arms to ever bench 300.

I just escaped from Coolie's basement, where he held me as AI for his creepy Drunk Coolie segments.

Due to dehydration, I am currently in the hospital. Have been since Thu with Rhabdomyolysis from doing 100 pullups on Monday. I'm clearing and asked the doctor to release me after the game since he said he was going to release me at 3pm.

Growing old sucks, and I never knew you could hurt yourself by working out hard and pushing your body to its limits.

FYI, my complete workout was 100 pullups 22 thrusters and a 2k run in 27min. I still did my lower body workout and hockey game on Tuesday, loaded all my vehicles on Wed, worked Thu morning as the DJ/MC in Philly for the Eagles first game, then came back, dropped off the equipment for the UMD game and drove to Urgent Care that night. Turns out I would have had kidney failure into heart failure if I didn't go to the hospital.
Dang bro.

Good Luck Ron. I liked the 225 because it was the combine standard. I haven't done 300 since my 30s.

I'm nearly at 200 on bench and just benched over my weight for the first time in my life in July. Pretty good for a kid that only had to bench in HS when I was 150lbs soaking wet with a pocket full of nickles. Back then I think my high was 115...

I’m at 285 right now, and my goal is 305 by December 31. I’m 54. Thinking I may challenge you for that skinniest arms thing😂

I bet I have you beat. Not allowed to lift at all right now due to shoulder issues and was told never to do any lifting over my head anymore due to the Bypass surgery last year. Swimming doesn’t build much for arms. Combined with dropping from a high of 280 down to 185 and being 6’2” I am too thin in the arms. But still have belly flab I can’t get rid of at 54. Skinny fat my wife calls it.

I’m still chubby too. I like food and beer too much. I look at myself as being kinda fit, kinda fat.

I pulled it off and got 3 reps actually. Video on my personal FB page.
Admittedly this was not a barbell but a machine with arms that you stack the weights on but 300 lb is 300 lb.
Had 3 rotator cuff surgeries on my left shoulder and 1 on my right so I'm not going to push my luck.

Same. except I like Scotch, Bourbon, and ——-1 beer——— too much to care about my waist line.

I got 225 for 3 sets of 8 a year ago. However I find myself getting fried if I sustain that for 3 weeks.

Now I drop to 155 then progressive overload weekly to bi weekly by 5-10 lbs until I can suffice 4 reps over the course of x amount of weeks. I’ve found my body feels a lot more fresh, springy and not so achey with that method

I turn 61 in a few weeks. I am hoping to bench 22.5# at least once. Mrs. Fan will spot me.
I'm pretty much done adding weight on most of my lifts. I just do my three sets of 8 to 12 reps at the same weight and call it a day. I'm still way stronger than the average 65 year-old, at least in the upper body, my legs are still **** from having my knees replaced.
I hadn't done a flat bench press in years, I only do inclines to build the upper pec more. Most men will look better if you do that. For the past year I've been doing my reps on incline bench at 205. The arms on the machine are 12 lb. and I just throw two 45's on each arm but I did a one-rep max of 275 so I figured with a little practice I should be able to flat bench 300.
That was two weeks ago and my left shoulder finally stopped aching today. :D

Same. I don’t stress if I’m lifting heavy anymore.
As long as I’m getting muscle movement and maintaining tendon health and mobility then I am happy. I’ve been happy with the maintenance work and my endurance is fine as well.

My warehouse job has made it very hard to push past plateaus these days.

Still missing. Hope all is well and he didn't jump rope for an hour or something
Just a busy man is what I took from him when I talked to him. I had called him a while back…
