it's amazing how often kickers have a few great years and then all of a sudden they suck.
Most kickers enter the league as an undrafted free agent. They usually win a battle with a higher paid veteran to get the job. You would think that would be the biggest pressure, even more than a big game. They are kicking for their life. Win the job and change their whole life.
Even if they don't have a long NFL career, just imagine being in your 20s and having just 3 years of 400K income.
My point is, you would think that is where the pressure is, breaking into the league, not a few years later after you are an established starter. But somehow it seems that's when they start cracking under pressure.
