Struggling Steelers Kicker Deletes Twitter Account After Fans Post His Old Homophobic Tweets

It’s no secret that fans will resort to almost anything to help their team win. However, some fans may have just taken things to an entirely new level.

Steelers kicker Chris Boswell has struggled mightily this year. After signing a 5-year deal worth almost $20 million, Boswell has missed seven field goals. Including a 32-yard chip shot against the Patriots on Sunday, in a game with huge playoff implications for the Steelers.

However, despite the fact that the Steelers won the game, and despite Boswell hitting on a 48-yard try to extend Pittsburgh’s lead late in the contest. Steelers fans took to Twitter and unearthed several old tweets from Boswell.

Several of which contained homophobic slurs. (*click link at tp to see tweets)

This has to be the most childish ****, in regard to fans actions, that I've ever seen.
 
Pathetic. I have zero doubts the lowlifes that spend time to dig up these old tweets and comments have said the same or worse. Obviously no mal-intent from Boswell (or almost anyone else for that matter) with this type of stuff.

Zero doubt these idiots have no job and are living w/ mommy & daddy. This social media 'gotcha' **** is completely out of control.
 
Forget the use of "gay"...nothing hurtful there. He says the N word though...so he might be ******.
 
Didn't see that. While it sounds like he's just trying to be 'gangsta', yeah, he might be ****** there.
 
And he was using quotes and some loser tried a "gotcha" moment with those. The tied turned with Murray as no one cared about those tweets and I saw USA Today got blasted from the masses. Any idea who dug up these tweets?
 
Now I'm going to hear Dueling Banjos in my head every time he takes the field.
 
This is society today, always looking to ruin someone's life over bullshit they posted online years ago. Boz has had a ****** year but this type of stuff needs to go away. People talk **** to each other, get over yourself if you don't like the language.

No kidding. It's the PC crowd of pansies who have the testosterone levels of a 9 year old girl who are the problem.
It's no wonder the last 20 years have seen huge drops in testosterone levels in the average adult male.

No heterosexual man should be held accountable for things they say or do when presented with the prospect of taking it in the pooper. That’s literally grounds for an insanity defense. Maybe the the threat wasn’t imminent, but just the thought popping into your head is a shields up, arm the photon torpedos situation.
