I feel that a team will feel strong about their roster and think we are one defender away. I think Highsmith is pissed about Herbig's contract compared to his own. Id deal him for a second. When you look at the list of seconds the Steelers took it's as good or better then the firsts. Get it done.

It would have to be an offseason move. Early enough to restock the position.

As far as compensation I want either an equal value player at S or WR or a second round pick.

My guess is they get a 3rd for him if they trade him at all. I think he should get a 2nd or even a 1st for a desperate team. I just think they won't get what the fans think, and they would settle for a 3rd.

I know this can’t happen, but a 3rd and the responsibility of his entire contract.

I would take 2 number ones. Get it done.

I would rrade Watt before Highsmith. Watt and a 2st for someones 3nd? 🤪

Im betting hes gone by the trade deadline and I wouldn't move him for less then a second. But they are not getting a first.
Im guessing barring injuries at olb and if Sawyer looks useful, this is true. I really thought he would be dealt to any of the teams converting to 3/4 and needing a premium pass rusher... all the other pass rusher moves kind of obscured his market, but between injuries and underperforming players, someone will pay up at or before the deadline..

A second and maybe a pick trade would be great..

Yes, keep him. To get the best out of Watt he will need snaps off at his age and we have a good rotation now as long as Watt has decent production.

The only way you trade him now is for a solid young edge rusher and a 3rd round pick minimum in return but I still wouldn’t do that

I’d trade Watt but no one would make that trade without the Steelers eating a lot of money

Highs.ith is better than any other old we have. That's my take.
I love how things are so year to year. I dont know about DPOY or a sack a game anymore. But I have lots of faith Watt gets 10 plus this year. Why? Cause lots of people are doubting him. He's gonna be ready for that challenge. Also, I think they are better on the back end. Watt is an unending motor guy. But if the scheme and the players allow easy down and distances it doesn't help a guy like Watt.

At some point, AB passed up our beloved Hines Ward too. It happens. Watt isnt bad, not saying that. Id like to see the big numbers TJ too. But consulting my magic 8 ball,

Tell that magic ball to figure in his fluke injury. Chances are we will see the best off a return. What that best will be is to be determined..

100%

A lot of folks writing him off as on the decline from the tail end of last year, where he rushed back from an idiot puncturing his lung.

He may not be peak anymore, but I’m damn sure the fall was partly due to his unfortunate circumstance.

Who knows, a competent game plan may help too

So you are saying that Watt now is taking screenshots.....nice.

Highsmith was definitely the Steelers best all-around EDGE defender last year. Hopefully he doesn't repeat because the Steelers really need Watt to live up to that monster contract.

Highsmith had single blocking to worry about, generally Watt was chipped or double teamed.

Watt didn’t have a good year last year so I’m thinking this new scheme and fresh start may help him a lot.

Highsmith was good when he didn’t disappear or when he was in the tub / injury.

I keep him and play his wheels off in that rotation we are hearing about.
