And when I say everything, I mean defensive hand signals, defensive formation tendencies, how the coaches are trying to cover up for player XYZ's shortcomings, audible defensive calls, and scouting report on injuries that are listed or unlisted.

I tend to think that Harrison, who left unhappy, will tell Belichick plenty, enough for him to gain an edge over us. A terrible move by Tomlin. Harrison at the very least was a plus run defender, a leader, and a spot pass rusher.

Honestly, what kind of leader complains about playing time on Instagram and gets cut with two games left in the regular season from a contender? I'd say not a good one.

Of course he will and Belicheat's response will be, "Thank you for confirming all of that."
The only thing that worries me with the changing of signals and audibles is the confusion it'll most likely cause for the players who aren't the most savvy players.
They'll probably get some blown coverages because of this.

The two other Harrison threads wasnt good enough for you huh??

Depends. Guys look up to him. I'm not sure what the Steelers told Harrison when he signed on for another year, but as we saw he can still play well.

Butler stated they change the hand signals for every game. And then at half time. So I think you are wrong Coach.....again.

There's one audible call that Ben does that hasn't changed in 14 years. His "alert, alert" and uses the same hand signals.. ALWAYS a run.

So if its been the same for 14 years the Patriots already know

Yeah, I guess that was kind of my point. Does it really matter if teams know audibles. They still gain yards off of it too.

gotta give Coach props for keeping it fresh and fun for everyone. this is the first time i've seen taco bell sauce used as a measuring stick.

Coach Bellicheck, they're going to play man on D. They also will double Gronk. be ready for it!

He aint saying anything the league doesn't already have tape on.

That's not an audible, that is the play call at the line for a check with me play. You call 2 plays in the huddle and check with me, the alert call is just indicating which play they are going to run. I have seen them pass and/or run in that situation.

Bingo. Belichick & Brady probably know more about the Steelers D than Harrison does.

Yeah it's silly no matter how you look at it. If you listen to Ben's presser today, they were a bit worried when the Browns signed Sammie Coates a week or so before their matchup. Coates was in the room for what, two seasons, knew everything there is to know about the Steeler offensive calls, hand signals etc. including their gameplan vs. the Browns. So they tweaked things slightly and went on with their lives.

To think Deebo would have even an ounce of new info to give Belichik is a fairy tale. By the time we play them again, if the Pats even make it that far, the entire gameplan, audibles and hand signals will be customized to that week's matchup. Anyone making the argument that Harrison is 'giving away the Steelers playbook' is simply delusional.

At the end of the day, the Steelers had no role left for an aging & slow Harrison. He wasn't happy about it and wanted out. The Steelers paid their respects and let him go. The Pats have huge holes in their D, so they're taking a flier on him. Probably eyeing a match-up with the Chiefs, hoping Deebo still has enough in the tank to make a dent against that waist-bender LT. There is nothing more to this story. Well, maybe that Belichik knew he'd get a rise out of a certain faction of Steelers fans. Those that are emotionally wound-up a bit too tight and push the panic button at a moment's notice. And those, of course, that have a bone to pick with Tomlin and the organization. Other than that, it's a drop in the ocean story with little to no impact in real football terms.

I think you're right about Coates, but not for those reasons. The reason why Sammie was a problem going to Cleveland was because we already put in the game plan for Cleveland that week we traded him, so he already had the game plan. Not Sammie's total experience with the offense, but the exact experience of playing them and what their tactics would be for that game. And the game was close.

I don't see Sammie's knowledge being a factor at all this week. He won't have this game plan, and we don't even know if we're resting starters yet.

will he even tell Bellichick about where is the cookie jar hidden?

Well said. And in addition to Belichick getting a rise out of Steelers fans, you know Deebo is too (posting that selfie with Tom Terrific). Like Wexell mentioned, great theater.

I’m not sure Harrison was ever a “vocal leader.” His style was more one of “leading by example.” He has a tremendous work ethic, and that is what he shared with the younger defensive players.

I would imagine this will motivate our offensive line quite a bit. And they probably know very well what James' strengths and weaknesses are. So there's that.
