What took you all so long?

Just another year of Coach Cool Shades bullshit, it never changes. I would say I wasn’t going to spend a dime on this **** show, except I quit doing that a few years ago. Between the NFL catering to fantasy sports fans, God awful officiating, and a moron at HC, my passion for the game slipped another notch or two this year.

As much as it pains me to say it, I really hoped they would lose today, BADLY. I really don’t know what it is going to take, to make a head coaching change, but for me it has been enough.

And pair him with a even slower LBer in Williams. And play a scheme that is dependent on them dropping in coverage?

Is next level tarded.
Yes it is, like I said in another thread, our best defensive unit is our Dline, but we don't use a scheme that maximizes that talent by getting more of them on the field at once, instead we use a scheme that puts our weakest unit out there, idiotic

The reality is Tomlin isn’t going anywhere this year but I do believe he’s coaching for his job in 2019. I expect to see major coaching changes on the defensive side of the ball and possibly a new ST coach as well.

"Coaching for his job" implies that he is either capable of doing better and has been slacking, or has the ability to figure out how to do better if pressure is applied. In either case, fire his ***.

Early on I was neutral like many others. I bought into the Steelers' way and had long-term expectations. It seemed though, from early on Tomlin was never able to really close out a team early, regardless of how bad they were, or how good we were. SB XLIII was closer than I had hoped, but hey...they won. SB XLV the team seemed flat early on...another modus operandi of Tomlin teams. Everyone thought the Steelers were the better team, and I tend to think the Steelers thought that a little too much of themselves too.

Another point of contention for me has been the rotating coordinators. The glaring holes in the team (pick a year) was always pinned on the coordinator. We're on our 2nd defensive and third offensive. So, 3 coordinators have lost their jobs under Tomlin, but Tomlin remains teflon.

For me I guess it comes down to the slow starts and inability to put teams away. It may only be my perception, but it would be interesting to see:
1. How many time the Steelers have had to come from behind in the 4th qtr to win
2. # of times they had to come from behind and fell just short in the 4th qtr
3. # of times the Steelers the Steelers gave up a good lead and barely held on for the win.

Because of the franchise history I never really bothered getting involved too much in the Tomlin has to go stuff. Now? I think it's time. I can promise you this, if the Rooney's don't spend all that money they saved on LeVeon on the defense or make some significant changes in either the staff, or the roster it'll be a while before I watch another game. Considering you can count on one hand how many I've missed in twenty years that's all I can do. I've had enough of the underachieving. If the owners don't care about anything but guaranteed gate receipts neither will I.

That's where I am as well, FAB. If Mike Tomlin doesn't give a **** if the Steelers win, why should I?? Tomlin's blaring idiocy in "saving" timeouts vs. Oakland, his admitted failure to make halftime changes and adjustments (unlike the other 31 NFL coaches, all college coaches, and most high school coaches), and his insistence on challenging where the ball is spotted despite his zero % success rate, are but three examples of why he is a terrible coach. Time management, halftime adjustments, and challenges are three of his in-game duties, and he sucks donkey balls at all three.

I don't know why you think 75%+ of this board hasn't been saying this for 2+ years and is just now catching on.

Team meeting was 18 minutes today. Can imagine what was said.

Good job men on the winning season, although we came up short obviously. We will get them next year!

After our winning streak this season I thought something, anything might be turning around...even a little. I was wrong.

For me it is a lot of things...but that home loss to the jagoffs in the playoffs last season literally made me sick. We did NOTHING worth a **** to replace Ryan. That alone ****** us so many times this season I can't even count them.

I can't imagine what Art2 is thinking letting this **** stand.

I've been slammed over the last few years for not being a Tomlin fan. But, now it seems that a lot of you all are done with him, or at least not sure of him anymore.

So, why the change now? Why were you so long in holding out for him? What was the moment you changed your mind?

Serious question.

Tomlin lost that new car smell years ago. The same flaws we see now were visible years ago.

For me, if the AB rumors are true, and he sits out the week of practice, and sits out a must win game, that is on Tomlin. Your star player can't sit out a game because he's pissed at someone, and a coach can't bench a star player for throwing a ball at somebody. That's just dumb.

All the other stuff didn't bother me, but if he lost this locker room, he can't stay.

I still don't know. maybe we just need to completely change our defensive scheme. offense is good enough to win we have good defensive players, its just that every tea has seen it for years.

For me it was the Tebow game.
The coaches came off stubborn and did the opposite.

In 2013 when they went 0-4 I lost my interest.
The defencies in 2009 reared their head in 2011 and 2012.

Final nail in the coffin was when AB posted on facebook and Tomlin in the background talking about the pats knowing we had jax next.
