What the $!@# has gotten into Ben and this offense !!! 94 pts ???

After the Denver game 2 years ago Colbert/Tomlin started to rebuild this team. They seemed to start with the offense because Ben was obviously their greatest strength. Despite a whole lot of criticism they seem to be doing a pretty good job and without a losing season. Now they need to develop continuity and some more depth. Looks like they are now moving on the defense. This isn't really a contender yet but one more draft and some cap room could make it one. Still very little credit from their detractors on the board but as a fan who went through the early 70's and 2000's I see some very encouraging signs.

Not wanting to bust your chops. I would like to hear who the picks were that we are rebuilding around from two years ago and one year ago. I would expect the top 3 players from each class plus 2 role players out of each those drafts if one were doing a good job in the rebuilding mode. Not busting your chops just interested in what you think.

I think the line played good after the first quarter and that was the difference in the game. Munchak has done a real nice job with this group. I look at the cowboys and see why they are winning and that is 100% because of that line they put together and I remember why we used to win with Cowher and that was because we won in the trenches. I hope Tomlin is taking note and we keep drafting and developing offensive and defensive linemen. Imagine if we had a true blue chip LT and put Beachum at LG. I think we'd score 40+ every game!

AB is the best WR in the league, Bell is easily in the top 5 RBs in his 2nd year. Ben is easily the hottest QB in the league. Sprinkle in some Martavius, Wheaton, Blount, Heath, and an Oline that is playing pretty well and hot damn, we got us a potent offense!
Bingo.
The OL is jelling and playing better.
The receivers behind AB are good enough that they can't always double him. If they do then **** it, one of the other guys will catch a pass for 30 or so yards..

Can it be that Haley DOES have a plan?

All I'm asking is that Tomlin, Haley and Lebeau don't stop game-planning like crazy mo'fo s for EACH game. That includes Ten, NYJ and everyone else. Work your *** off until the bye and then take a couple days off and relax. But keep that work on. If they can win the next two without the traditional let-down against weaker teams, that will be very very special.

(If I were the owner I'd tell Coach T that I'd be giving him and his staff a raise for each game they go over .500 this year. With a bonus for each playoff game they win. And of course a major bonus for a superbowl win. Keep them glued to the game-film and game-planning rooms like crack-heads waiting for their next hit.)

Never thought id see the offense scoring points like this especially from what we've seen earlier in the season. Who would've thought we'd be 3rd in the NFL in points scored just behind the Patriots and Colts? More points than Denver? Ben is currently 2nd in yards passing just behind Andrew Luck. Wow. And than Antonio, what can I say, he's the best WR in the NFL right now. Most catches and yards.

DeCastro,Beacham,Adams, and Spence from 2 yrs ago,Jones, Bell,Wheaton,Thomas,Williams from a yr ago,and Shazier, Tuitt,Bryant, and McCullers from this year. I haven't given up on N.Williams, Brown,Branchflower, and Richardson yet either. One thing getting old hopefully teaches you is patience. Remember it was only a month ago we were not only firing all the front office and coaching staff but advocating the Rooney's sell the team. Plus trade Ben.

As much as I like what we've been able to do over the last few weeks...we NEED to get better.

Here is what I would expect a HC to do:

1. Get rid of or re-evaluate our pre-scripted plays. While they are designed to see what the defense will do in certain situations. They really haven't added up to much.

2. Get a REAL punter. As much as I like the kid, no team has had two muffed snaps on FGs/XtraPts and we cannot expect it to get better with a dedicated LS guy (the snap is not the problem). Also, his punting has been much like the team...inconsistent. I would rather have an expected average punt of 39 yards than a few good ones mixed in with a few 29 yarders. It WILL cost us a game at some point.

3. Get McCullers back in uniform. I hated watching Flacco sneak for the extra down WHILE Thomas had already lost his footing and was on his knees beyond the LOS. That ALONE wouldn't have happened w McCullers in the middle. I don't care if he is playing 5 snaps a game. That is 5 less that Thomas will be on the field.

4. Re-evaluate our ST players. When I watch other teams, they usually have at MOST 4-5 guys running downfield who got past their blocks. We allow 5-8 EVERY time on our returns? With Danny having so much experience at ST, it cannot be ANYTHING but personnel. It is horrible to watch Jacoby Jones do EXACTLY what Smith has been saying he needs Archer to do (selling the run-back up the middle BEFORE bursting outside the 'lanes'). With the EVIDENCE at hand, it would appear that a BIG leg for KOs only would be a better impact than a 5th ILB (Garvin). With Suisham under contract for a while after signing this year, it may be our only choice.

Where ever it turned lets hope they keep it up. Having more than one receiver where ben can count on others is a big deal. I like seeing drop off throws to the running backs keep the drives going. keep it up Ben.

Other than the first couple series the line was good again tonight. If Ben has time he's as good as any of the others because he isn't strictly running an improvised offense.

Four of the next Five on the road.

If we can start doing this **** there, we might have something special brewing.

This! If we can avoid the typical "play down to the opponent's ability" meltdown, aka "Trap Game", we just might be really turning the corner onto "Kick *** Dr".

Essentially, I think Ben is tired of being referred to as "second tier". I think he's ready to make his final bid for tier 1, full on franchise "I'm the man". I think's he's been pretty convincing the last couple seasons, if not over his entire career.

So, you expect 5 players from each rookie class (top 3 draft choices, plus 2 role players) to be players that this team is rebuilding around. Good luck with that, not only from this team, but from any other team that isn't a perennial loser.

Yes Brown/Wheaton/Bell/Bryant a lot for a D to handle
I loved the hitting, pushing and shoving even moreso than the six A+ TD's by Mr. Ben, the awesome play of our WR's. The way we were getting after Flacco, the pick by Worilds, Deebo going nuts, all of it. Was nice to them stand their ground... and then some. Suisham & Wing grabbing that Ravens DB was pure gold. Shoved / walked the dude around to the other side of the pile. Was awesome to see. I have new found respect for our kicker & punter, respectively. Wing had a few good punts yet again, and made a brave throw on that PA ... (throws like a girl though). And Suisham has been solid, just hate his Adidas soccer cleats (don't ask me why).

As the originator of the phrase, you should know better than to not capitalize "*******". I suppose you get a pass, but u need to set a better example.

Yes Wing and Suisham was classic and also Ben's reaction to it. Good times

Now they have moved up greatly and are playing well. We have mostly the same guys what the **** took so long? If they can get this **** going for the rest of the season they will have something. One phrase I have heard mentioned by several players is extra work, film study, etc. Could it be that finally the players are putting in overtime to get better and if so it has shown to be a huge difference. Could it be that they have discovered that even though the players contract limits required practices that they can come in on their own time to do this?

We may not ever know for sure being on the outside looking in but the phrase putting in the extra time has shown up in several interviews and I think may be the significant difference. To who ever has come up with the plan stay after it and good job no time to let up now.
