What position do you think is the biggest need?

second round - an offensive playmaker if one is there. don't care if it is WR, RB, or TE. Just someone who can step in and be a threat to take something to the house...even better if pick can return kicks/punts.

from there out, fill out depth at ILB, DL, OL.

oh, and after the draft, find punter competition.

Hoot-ie your just not blowing fish. I think WR and RB is stronger and should be more attractive options than at TE sitting there in 2. If all things are equal which position sees the field quicker? Juggling scenarios seems to always come back to RB.

lol on Hootie reference. points for that.
I know TE is a bad year...i just threw it in for completeness. I think the player will be RB or WR in the second. WR is more likely to give us a return threat than an RB, but RB may also be forward looking to possible post JC after next season. In hte end, i am find with either as long as we get someone who can gives us some sort of homerun threat on O or ST.

A lot depends on Ben's health... how many more seasons will he play? Will he stay healthy for all of this season? So, a QB has to be on the radar soon.

HC..............this team has had more than enough talent to go farther than we have.

The biggest need, as in a position or unit that needs to upgrade the starter?

Head Coach, NT/DT, Punter, Running Back, Special Teams coach.

Depth needs:

C/G
S
Edge
ILB
OLB

PS: I say keep Matt Feiler at Right Tackle. He's decent there. I don't care which average player starts at the other guard spot. It would be very risky moving Feiler to Guard and having Okorafor start at Right Tackle. I didn't like Okorafor pick. There was a competition in camp for the RT spot in 2019. It wasn't close.

So for you RB isn't depth need? You feel like it's necessary to have another starter? If Snell does the 2nd year jump you only really need is a 3rd down back for the passing game

He is minimizing the O-line concern. I am so thankful cooch isn't our GM.

Really thankful.

Biggest need is certainly LG, C, OL in general.

But you want the biggest immediate improvement, one player that can make the team a championship contender RIGHT NOW, that player is RB. Conner is not the guy. Injuries are a repeated issue with him and we cannot pretend otherwise. A top-tier RB added on to Juju, Washington, DJ, the TE's, and an OL that can be helped with a later pick, added on to this defense?

Yes, please.

If they don't think JC is the future featured back, running back. JK Dobbins and Jonathan Taylor could be there in the 2nd round.

Very high on Dobbins. Not sure he will be there in 2 but if he was they should do a Steelers sprint right up to the podium.

I like Taylor too I just figure with his impressive combine that he would go bottom 1, top of 2.

I see 3 guys Swift, Dobbins and Taylor as the upper tier in RBs the next level guys comprised of Akers, Moss CEH and then maybe a guy like Dillon

I think we will see QBs, OT, WRssss, Edge and S dominating the 1st round..... Miami picked up Jordan Howard but with all the picks they have they might select someone like Swift at 26 if they covet him more than the other guys or roll the dice and pick up one of them in the 2nd round. Other than that the other 2 teams I would consider in the RB market would be KC and Tampa Bay. So if KC goes DEF that may leave one of the top 3 available RBs until mid 2nd round. Of course LA Chargers could shake things up too.

Nice scenerio and very well could happen. LA Chargers new label but same sucktitude especialy if they take our intended 2nd rnd pick.

We could very well go RB in the second but if a top tier OL is there I hope for that. Coolieman mentioned a UH guy but like others I doubt he will be there in the 2nd, one can dream the dream.!

I’m actually not the biggest JK Dobbins fan in the world. I see him being average in the NFL. Taylor is boom or bust IMO. He could be a pro bowler or out of the NFL in three years. Personally I want the Steelers to go high floor with their first two picks. Guys that very least are starters within two years. I think defensive and offensive line are usually a bit safer picks in round two and three and when you look at our o-line and d-line situation over the next two years our free agents are Villanueva (32), DeCastro (32), Pouncey (33), Heyward (32), Aluala (34) are all free agents in the next two years and all over 30. The last player (besides QB) to get a big contract after 30 I can remember was Jason Gildon.

Looking at this years RB class it’s pretty deep IMO. I just don’t see this huge drop from a Swift/Dobbins to guys like LaMical Perine, AJ Dillon, and Patrick Taylor. I also think whoever our RB is in 2022 is going to have a hard time if we haven’t replaced three starters on our offensive line efficiently.

Here is your dream list to pick from at OT taken from the NFL DRAFT Rankings
I Think for sure 5 and maybe even 6 of the top dudes are gone by the 5th pick in the 2nd round...... Ezra Cleveland is probably where our pick becomes relevant
I think there will be better value at C/G at that point than OT

2020 NFL Draft Rankings: Offensive Linemen
KEVIN HANSONUPDATED:MAR 14, 2020ORIGINAL:FEB 14, 2020
Editor's Note: These rankings were originally published before the combine. We will be updating our position rankings throughout draft season.

The top four offensive tackles all had strong combine performances that either improved or solidified their draft stock.

Matching the talent in this year's draft class with the offensive tackle help needed by so many teams, the top four offensive tackles could be off the board in the first half of the first round. In my latest mock draft, six offensive tackles were selected in Round 1.

Here are my updated offensive line prospect rankings:

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

1. Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama (JR, 6'4", 312 pounds)

Wills has started the past two seasons in Tuscaloosa at right tackle, Tua Tagovailoa's blind side. Not only did Wills show significant year-over-year improvement from his sophomore to junior season, but his development continued throughout 2019. Dominant as a run blocker, Wills generates plenty of movement at the point of attack, has the mentality to finish blocks and excels at getting to the second level. While he doesn't have experience at left tackle, Wills has the quick feet and hands and smooth movement skills to become a high-end starter on either side.

2. Tristan Wirfs, OT/OG, Iowa (JR, 6'5", 320 pounds)

Even if some teams prefer him at guard, Wirfs mostly started at right tackle for the Hawkeyes, though he did make a few starts at left tackle. In fact, he became the first true freshman to start at offensive tackle for Iowa during the Kirk Ferentz era. A former state champion wrestler, Wirfs has elite hand usage.

Wirfs led all offensive linemen at the combine in 40-yard dash (4.85), vertical jump (36.5") and broad jump (10'1") and showed impressive movement skills during the on-field drills in Indianapolis.

3. Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville (JR, 6'7", 364 pounds)

Starting at left tackle in a new offense in 2019, Becton had switched sides (LT to RT) mid-game during the previous two seasons. Becton has rare size and length. Given his size, Becton has the strength you'd expect and is a mauler in the run game. While he has work to do for his pass protection to catch up to his prowess as a run blocker, he has rare movement skills for a man of his size with tremendous upside. Becton ran a 5.10, 40 with a 1.77 10-yard split at the combine.

4. Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia (JR, 6'5", 315 pounds)

Thomas is a three-year starter with experience at right tackle (2017) and left tackle ('18 and '19). The recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given to the best offensive lineman in the SEC, Thomas has been great in the run game. Thomas has had some balance issues in pass protection, but he has outstanding length (36 1/8" arms) and good foot quickness. Thomas has the versatility, size and length to play either tackle spot at the next level and showed well in the agility testing (7.58 three-cone, fourth-best among OL) at the combine.

5. Josh Jones, OT, Houston (SR, 6'5", 311 pounds)

Starting 45 games at left tackle, Jones may have some work to do in terms of cleaning up his technique, but he has steadily improved over his four seasons for the Cougars. Jones continued that positive momentum with a strong week in Mobile, although he didn't test as well in Indy as I had expected. Light on his feet, Jones has the movement skills that allow him to reach blocks at the second level with ease. Jones has the athleticism and length to remain at left tackle in the NFL.

Here are my top 20 offensive tackles:

1. Jedrick Wills, Alabama (JR, 6'4", 312 pounds)

2. Tristan Wirfs, Iowa (JR, 6'5", 320 pounds)

3. Mekhi Becton, Louisville (JR, 6'7", 364 pounds)

4. Andrew Thomas, Georgia (JR, 6'5, 315 pounds)

5. Josh Jones, Houston (SR, 6'5", 319 pounds)

6. Austin Jackson, USC (JR, 6'5", 322 pounds)

7. Ezra Cleveland, Boise State (rJR, 6'6", 311 pounds)

8. Matt Peart, UConn (rSR, 6'7", 318 pounds)

9. Isaiah Wilson, Georgia (rSO, 6'7", 350 pounds)

10. Lucas Niang, TCU (SR, 6'6", 315 pounds)

11. Prince Tega Wanogho, Auburn (SR, 6'5", 308 pounds)

12. Jack Driscoll, Auburn (rSR, 6'5", 306 pounds)

13. Ben Bartch, St. Johns (MN) (SR, 6'6", 309 pounds)

14. Alex Taylor, South Carolina State (rJR, 6'8", 308 pounds)

15. Saahdiq Charles, LSU (JR, 6'4", 321 pounds)

16. Charlie Heck, North Carolina (SR, 6'8", 311 pounds)

Some good points and agree the OL is important.
I would be happy with a top Guard early and a guy like Cam Akers later on

Og/rb
rb/ot

idk what they plan on doing for a Nose tackle, albeit for so few snaps. But we got big dan,, and they must plan on playing others there. Colbert says they plan on using wormley (sp) at DT.

I've said it already...

OG and OT need to be high on the selection list. Feiler is ok as well as Big Al but an upgrade at both OT positions needs to happen soon. While Foster was the weak link, for the past couple of years, his departure at OG leaves a gap that needs to be filled.

After OG and/or OT, QB is still my greatest concern and we all know franchise QB's don't grow on trees and they're very hard to find. Bermuda still thinks Jalen Hurts will help this team more than hurt us, but that's my honest opinion.

If we somehow can find a workhorse RB, in this draft, I wouldn't be mad at that either.

FS is also another area of concern for me...
