What needs adjustment post game 3.

Gotta disagree. We finally have a QB that this coaching staff allows to audible, so Johnson has to be able to block on the fly. That QB can’t get hit much at 41 years old, if he gets injured we will almost certainly lose any game he doesn’t play in.

Johnson has to be able to pass protect if he’s gonna be out there. That being said it’s on him to get it done and the coaches to help him, he should be able to contribute this year if not that’s an organizational indictment

We already had issues with Najee being a huge tell that we were running the last couple years, what do you think happens if we put KJ in and they know we will run because he can't pass block. i would use that to our advantage and throw him the ball but he is suspect at receiving as well.

Then why draft him? In the 3rd round to boot.

It is the coaches job to make a package of some sort for a player. Hell we ran a wildcat this past week.

Then why use a 3rd pick on the guy?

Coaches find ways to use players. Good ones do anyways.

Justin Layne, Mason Rudolph, Dri Archer were also third round picks for the Steelers. More recently, why spend a third on Roman Wilson if they're just going to make him a statue 3 times a game?

KJ could be Jim Brown and Barry Sanders combined, but if he was shaky in pass pro he’d be returning kicks. Mike Tomlin’s entire life centers around avoiding risk.

Yes it is on the coaches to get him there ASAP and it’s another early pick moving towards a year 1 Tomlin redshirt, which isn’t acceptable, but if he can’t do the job right now, he can’t do the job.

If he can’t protect Rodgers and Rodgers gets hurt this season is done, lord knows we already have plenty of linemen that can’t pass protect, we don’t need another liability out there

3rd round picks are high upside projects not instant starters. He is a rookie that came from a program that is allergic to passing. Give the kid time to acclimate. We are WAY WAY to impatient with picks.

To be honest i dont think he could be any worse then Arthur Smith. I never really had an opinion on the guy but based upon his tenure with the Atlanta Falcons I wasnt highly impressed. Since hes taken over I've become even less impressed. Coach Tomlin just can't nail it on the coordinators.

We jad numerous short yardage situations where we ran. Plug and play him on them. Sitting him on the sideline when Warren and Gainwell are averaging 3 yards a pop is not the answer.

The narrative is his pass protection is bad or has been and it is possible they want to be sure he is ready before jeopardizing the guy who is leading the team on old legs. That it is AARon making the call is simply supposition on my part with no actual evidence just my opinion.

Im not sure what to do with him man. I would like to get some idea if he is even remotely effective so we definitely need to see something. I just worry when he comes into game it may be too obvious to the defense what is being run.
 
So
A. Kaleb Johnson wont get a shot at running the ball till he learns to block... that actually is a common stance for coaches in the NFL

B. Roman wilson is not WR1 or WR2 in an Arthur Smith Offense. Wrs 3 and 4 are lucky to get ten snaps a game and are rarely ever an early read. WR2 is lucky to see 80% of snaps... abd arent targeted a lot at all.. its why big time wrs arent gonna do well here...

Expecting anything out of RW barring an injury to Metcalf or Austin is just illogical based off of the OC

Again....I see no reason not to throw him out there for a few plays a game in situational situations. Unless of course he sucks at running also in practice. That very well could be it.
