Finding a guy like Ben is a once in a lifetime thing. Same goes for Brady and the Pats. We were spoiled with Big Ben for almost 2 decades. Think of all the Teams that have never had a guy like him? Its 25-28 of the 32 teams at the absolute minimum. It's never happening again in our lifetime for sure.
Kenny was a huge mistake, so was the fields and wilson experiment, but it doesn't mean Fields and Wilson were not the best option on the table at the time. I don't know how any team can watch Kenny play and say that's our guy! for 2 long years. I would say the same thing for the 4 years of Najee as well, but thats no longer an issue.
The Steelers have made some egregious mistakes in the past decade when it comes to not keeping the best talent in black and gold. Penny pinching and arrogantly assuming Ju ju and conner could replace Brown and Bell? Turns out talent matters. The offense has been a joke since those 2 left the building.
Trading away Pickens who's been the clear #1 player on the offense since he's been here is like de ja vu. Have they not learned you gotta keep you're best guys happy so they want to stick around?

Had they assumed they found there guy when they drafted Purdy with the last pick of the draft, they'd be s---t out of luck. If they were SO SURE about Trey Lance, where would they be right now? They trade the world for Lance and it turns out he's not the man. But in Pgh, we are just so sure about Kenny being the man, eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttt. wrongo bucko. Our search for QB is over, we found our man! Umm, so we didn't. Kenny is sh--. Philly found out in a hurry.
