What Did the Steelers Draft Tell Us About the Team?

if Claypool can have the impact that Bryant did inside the 15 hes worth it, because he is so tall it will take him some time despite his stellar 40 time for a 6"4 WR as it is being said he gets faster as he builds up on his route because of his long strides, Hopefully he is good at beating the jam and finding areas to get open in the redzone and uses his physical style to get in tight windows where ben can just throw a jump or hard pass and expect him to come down the way Bryant and heath (in the back of end zone was always found a way to bring in catches in tight windows that were bullets.

I am not a fan of the Claypool pick. I just don't think he's as good as people think, is a "tweener" WR/TE and will struggle in the NFL to live up to his high hopes as our first draft choice/2nd rounder.

Highsmith is fine. High motor. Good work ethic. I worry he has a limited ceiling but that's okay if he can stay healthy and progress as a pro.

I am actually liking the McFarlane pick a lot. I think everyone here is wrong that thinks his potential is only change-of-pace or part time guy. He is not small. He is short. He is huge in the legs/thighs. Squats 500 lbs. We have seen a lot or 1000 yard rushers through the years in this league with very similar builds. They might not last into 2nd contracts very well, but they can be exceptional producers early in careers. If McFarlane lights up preseason and camp, Iook out. I don't think Conner (who was only a 3rd rounder) is marked in pen as our bell cow back. If he struggles to produce or get yards per carry up with an older offensive line, Tomlin might make a switch. McFarlane is definitely NOT Dri Archer.

Looks like you are taking the reverse psychology approach with your draft analysis..........the later the pick the higher you get ....lol

Minkah .......must have been a dislike of the trade
Claypool..... not a fan of the pick
Highsmith.... you are fine with
McFarland.... like the pick..kick Conner to the curb
Dotson .......heading for Probowl
Brooks.......... all pro
Davis............ 1st ballot HOF

I can see it happening..... the world is turning upside down as we speak..........:topsy_turvy:
and life will never be the same as we know it........

agree. if he can give us a fade to the backcorner and a drag across the middle in traffic, then his impact will be felt in the redzone.

Sounds like a lot of IF'S going into this year.

There's a lot of IF's for every team. Every year. We just don't obsess over other teams' IF's because we're too busy arguing about the Steelers'
