What are the Steelers chances to make the playoffs?

Even without Ben's injury, I didn't see this team much better than 8-8 and my guess was7-9. At this point, very little chance - 20% at best.

Rivers is 2-2 vs the Steelers, averages under 7 ypa and 57% completion, not sure how that is "plays well against us".

2-2 with an * Our defense was likely much better in those 4 games played.

Rivers is having another good season. He's very underrated, and probably would have played in a super bowl if he was drafted by a better run team.

Rivers is accurate, get's rid of the ball quickly, and move the chains without a lot of talented WR's.

If our pass rush doesn't get in his face I think he'll expose the coverage units.

Last three games they scored 28, 24, and 24 against us when we had a better D. Like i said we will need at least 24 points i believe and i am not sure if vick can get that for us.

It doesn't matter what this defense is now, the statement was made that Rivers plays well against us, I showed stats showing otherwise. And if you watch them this year, their OL is not very good AGAIN. They are the typical Chargers, lots of talent, can't quite piece it together to be a legitimate contending team. Some of that lies with Rivers, who has thrown at least one INT in NINE straight games, the longest active streak in the NFL.

100% chance, finish 11-5

10-6 and no matter how bad they **** up it is simply impossible to finish worse than second in the division.

Ok.... Last 3 games against us Rivers is 63/112 (56%) 759 yards and 9 Tds with only 1 Int. To me that is playing pretty well....... We did manage 8 sacks, but that was when we had a real pass rush.

56% completion is bad, also the last three games have been thirty something to twenty something, not much defense involved to be honest.

The way our defense has stepped up I'd say there's a real good chance. My only concern now with this team is the offensive line but I think once Pouncey's back they're going to be dominate again. I think we might be the best team in the AFC if we can figure out how to stop Brady. 12-4 (a loss to the Cardinals & loss to the Seahawks) and win the division.

I really have a hard time seeing us getting to 8 wins but with Ben anything is possible.

Why? Because some analyst said we have a hard schedule?

This is Mike Tomlin's team and the NFL, anything is possible. Finishing second doesn't guarantee a wild card birth.

Because I look at our schedule and see only about 4guaranteed wins(Browns 2*, Raiders, Bengals 1 time)

Then I see a bunch of games(@Sea, Denver, @KC, Ari, at least 1 of the Bengals games) that look like they'll be tough

If Ben is back, I'll be much more optimistic on some of those but odds wise Vegas is going to have us as a dog 5-6 times over the remainder of this season

Oh no...not Vegas!!!

Have you actually watched some of those teams play? Or are you just going by reputation?

@ Chargers - Rivers has thrown an INT in 9 straight games, their OL is a mess, their D is HORRIBLE against the run
vs Cardinals - Ben could be back here, will be a shootout
@ Chiefs - Bad OL play, bad D play, no playmakers outside of Charles and even he looks pedestrian this year
vs Bengals - Not as good as their record shows, Dalton is still making bad decisions, turned the ball over twice in crunch time against Balt, was bailed out by poor secondary play by Balt.
vs Raiders - At home, while improved still should be a win
vs Browns - Win
@ Seahawks - tough game, D not what it was, offense is struggling, still don't know how to use Jimmy Graham
vs Colts - They are a mess
@ Bengals - see above
vs Broncos - Manning is already looking every bit as old as he is, they can't run the ball, their D is carrying them. In December, in Pitt, I'd be surprised if we lose this game
@ Ravens - revenge
@ Browns - win

I'll stand pretty firm at my 11-5 prediction, probably split the Bengals game, Seahawks game will be tough because it's in Seattle, and until Ben comes back we'll lose one of the next two. But as it's been pointed out, QB's not named Ben vs the Ravens are 1-7, but vs the rest of the league 9-2.

I like your thinking, insaniti but I'm doubtful that Ben will be back for the Cardinals game. Chiefs game seems much more likely.
