Murphy gone and Archer is still on the roster. I just don't get it. Does Dri have full penatration photos of someone's significant other that he is holding for ransom? The experiment has to end.

I found the video that Dri has on Haley:

I do not get all the archer bashing around here. The guy is simply not getting chances so who knows if he is good or bad. You cant really judge a guy when he may get 1-2 touches per game. I think if he went to a decent team as a true backup RB he could be a good player. When he does get to play now he basically has no chance. The other team pretty much knows / expects archer to get the ball so they are looking for him and there is a good chance of a screen / swing pass going to him as the first read. Nothing like telegraphing your play calls.... What I dont understand is why the coaching staff keeps him if they are not going to try to get him around 10 touches per game.

Because he's not that good. They feel that the chance for success is slim if they put him in there. What other reason could there be? What, does he not know the playbook yet?

That's the thing. I think it's pretty obvious why he isn't getting on the field. And what does he do when he's presented the little opportunity he does have? Nothing other than bounce backwards off the defender or piss all of us off and return a kick from 9 yards deep in the end zone only to be tackled at the 14 yard line.

The only kickoff opportunity he had the two main blockers missed their block..it isn't just him when he is returning kicks

I agree his KR are not good, but when was the last time we ever had a good special teams unit in general. Our kickoff returns have sucked since the Cowher era. As for other touches like I said if he is only on the field 1-2 times per game the D is going to key on him and the play has very little chance at success unless they use Archer as a decoy. If they really want to see what he can do, then he needs to be in there 10-15 snaps at least and the offense needs to mix up the play calls.

Tombert's ego just can't admit it was wrong. smh

You know...there is a possibility that Murphy just isn't that good, either....That's a kind of 'out there' theory, I know....

Exactly, the Rooneys are letting him tank their multi-million dollar franchise so they don't hurt the ego of the coach they wont let choose his own coordinators. Cheese and Fries!

What difference does him being able to be KR make? Every kickoff goes through the back of the endzone anymore.

Exactly! We **** can Wallace with the label of one trick pony, but Archer is a KR listed as a receiver who has provided nothing to this team by way of offensive advantage and he stays on the payroll. He's a no trick pony. He's so damn fast, but so damn small. He needs to go race middle school kids for their lunch money. It could be a lucrative scam for him.

A writer for a newspaper we aren't allowed to cite is speculating that they are trying to trade archer.

funny how all the votes on Tyler Murphy happened after it was publicly known he was the one cut

From what I saw (and yes, I know, I know, I'm just a peon football fan employed by no NFL team), murphy seemed to have a helluva lot more potential as an asset for the offense, than dri's ever exhibited.

That is true for September and October. Down the stretch in November and December, it becomes a valuable situational position. Cold air lessens the ability to kick deep on KOs.

The game books show Murphy in for 7 offensive plays in game 1 and none in game 2. In on one ST play in game 2.

Without even watching him play, I'd guess Murphy has more upside that Landy Jones, too. I'd put him in as the 3rd QB with Bell on one side and Williams on the other before I'd put Jones back there.

If he was the 3rd qb and plays doesn't that mean the other qbs can't come back in the game?

Oh yikes guess I am a bit behind the times...I saw it was aboilshed for the 2011 season. I still think tebow would be a good 3rd QB especially with the way the 2 point coversion is used this year.
