Some might be familiar with this phrase.
It's often heard in Three Stooges shorts by women who are offended by something.

Well, I must be a woman in a Three Stooges short ( although I was born AND identify as a male ).
Because, well, I've never.
I've never seen our team in this much disarray.
I've never been so confused at the direction of our team.
I've never been so frustrated with the lack of gameplanning and adjustments.
I've never been so flabbergasted at the moves made by the team.
I've never seen our fanbase this discombobulated and confounded.

I'm not the oldest fan here, and I'm certainly not the youngest.
I was born at the beginning of the 70s dynasty, so I can only recount from the early 80s on.
This season.......this is new to me.
I've previously posted about admitting being late to the party for calling for Tomlin's head.
But now I'm questioning the organization as a whole.
I still think it's a leadership issue, but is that from Rooney? Colbert? Tomlin? A combination? All three?
I'm convinced that Tomlin is at fault in some capacity, but these recent moves have me questioning Colbert and Rooney now.
We've had bad starts before. But I've never felt like I do today in any other previous season.
I don't recognize this version of our Steelers. I have a feeling I've never had before.
And I get it. We're spoiled, beyond spoiled, by the wealth of winning, consistency, and culture we've experienced since 1970.

But WELL I'VE NEVER because I'm offended at the product I'm watching.
This is not the Steelers I'm accustomed to.
And this is not being "Get off my lawn!" refuse to go with the change guy.
This is a new feeling to me, a first in my Steeler fandom.

I can't wait for the MNF GAME OF THE YEAR Bengals/Steelers prediction thread, that should be a doozy, lol

Spoiled would be the fans****** in Fraudboro ****. Now that's spoiled.

We're sitting on 11 years of nothing.

I wanted Tomlin hired when it was down to Grimm, Whiz, and Tomlin.

It started to become obvious though once the Cowher/Colbert guys on D started to retire, this defense started to decline quickly, and even though we've used a first round pick almost every year it seems on D, it's not getting better.

Tomlin just isn't a good coach, I don't know anyone that is a fan of this team can think he is. I called the game plan before the game Sunday, he always has a super ultra conservative game plan on the road, even with Ben. He lost me several years ago when we were in Baltimore, both offenses were struggling, we were playing very conservative, Ben wanted to go no huddle and speed the pace up. Tomlin's answer(per him in his own presser) Baltimore wasn't threatening on offense so I felt no need to change what we were doing. Baltimore scored points, we finally went no huddle in the 4th, Ben had nearly 200 yards in that qtr and 2 TD's but it was to late.
horrible to no in game adjustments, hell he always says the scheme is fine, no adjustments needed.
time management crap
challenges crap
I honestly can't think of one thing he does well.

He's pretty good at the attempted clothesline with the Psych! pullback as the opponent is hauling *** to the end zone. That's about it.

I agree with you here Tom. I think he’s been made way too comfortable in his job and become extremely arrogant, stubborn and too much tunnel vision. He’s not football intelligent enough to make adjustments therefore never deviate from my game plan and hence the pointing fingers. Guys dropped passes, fumbled, didn’t block, didn’t tackle. Well **** happens in games like fumbles, ints, etc. but you compensate and make adjustments, substitutions, play the chess match if you will. No, he just ******* stands there looking lost, confused and overmatched.

And I’ve asked the board on several occasions to name me one thing he excels at. So far zero takers.

Seems very similar to the 80s to me. Just kind of floundering about for the most part, but I think that can probably apply league wide though, at least from my point of view. Been a long time since I've seriously looked forward to and enjoyed watching NFL football. Might have more to do with how the D has been neutered and every offense is pretty much just a different flavor of Air Coryell. I miss the days of watching the line march down field, dominating the time of possession and occasionally not allowing the opposition to have the ball in a quarter. Now it's pass, pass, pass, interference call, holding call, pass, off sides, run, punt. Or 2-3 passes, an interference call and then they're in the endzone

That said, there is something to be said for ****** seasons. They will make you appreciate the wins a whole lot more.

I've never understood this. Tomlin isn't stupid. I know he isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer but there is no way he doesn't see what's going on. Does he really think adjustments don't need to be made? Every coach from Jr. High on know adjustments must be made because the other team is going to do them. There is something missing but I don't know what it is.

Maybe they are making slight adjustments and I'm not seeing it? Maybe they feel like if the plays were executed better it would change something... I'm at a loss. I don't know what they are doing. I know when you line 2 DL on a goal line stand you aren't going to stop any team in the NFL ( or college) from scoring. Putting your biggest LB on other team's best WR isn't going to work. It never will and I don't care how good players are it still won't work. It's mind blowing how stupid some of this looks.

Coaches meeting

Well I've never wanted a coach of any team fired more than I want Dumblin to hit the streets. And I was an early adopter. I've wanted him gone for years.

He had me at Going for 2 from the 12. While there was some success in the early years, it was obvious all along that the finer points were well beyond him. Unleashing hell and "accidentally" wandering into the field of play only confirmed the suspicions.

By the time we hire a challenges coach, an X's and O's coach, a clock management coach, and top flight coordinators to prop up Shades, what's left for him to excel at?

The one thing he supposedly had was "NFL Coach players would most like to play for," but even that's been exposed more as myth.

Wifey and I left kommiefornia eleven years ago. I was already two years down the "Tomlin sucks" path. I just hate it. He had a second HOF QB in our midst, and pissed it away for what? I just don't get it.

Unitl the Rooneys get a real coach, who will have to wait to rebuild this mess, and the league quits giving the cheats all the advantages (assuming no other team gets the cheats' special treatment) I just don't care much. Why should I? I already know the outcome.

Don't forget the brilliant call on 4th and 1 vs Jax in the playoffs. The Jags are in a goal line defense, everyone at the line, so what does he call, a toss right that is 6 yards behind the LOS to the short side of the field.

Back around 1991 at the end of Noll's career and Joe Walton was the OC, they had about a six game stretch where the defense scored more touchdowns than the offense did.

Yep, remember those days well. Steelers fans took signs to Three Rivers that read

"J__E ... Where's the O?"

Pretty much all we had was Stan Savran and Myron Cope on 1250 AM.

I was somewhat early into the DirecTV customer base. It was back in 1994. Things were on the upswing as far as the Steelers went and I paid a little extra to get the regional sports networks. I don't remember the call sign, maybe it was KBL but one of my favorite shows was Sportsbeat with Stan and Guy. STAN, GUY Love the Show!!! They always seemed to do a good job of giving an honest assessment of the team Also remembered they would go around to different fans homes and broadcast from their back yards. :) Classic
