This week was a little easier to work with. Although I have to give a shout out to Tyler M. Two BIG special teams plays two weeks in a row. I'm watching you Big Red!
This week marked the dynamic return of one Martavis Bryant. It's nice to see one of the B's pick up the heat when Antonio is being held, and blanketed all over the field. Byrant not only made a muscle catch in the End Zone to reacquaint himself with the scoring world, he drew a looooong penalty and he made the huge catch deep which means he single-handed put the Steelers in position to score what, 13 of their 26 points?
That will get you on the list for the Dan Rooney Award for week 2.
Honorable Mentions,
Eli Rogers just kept working. He didn't have a huge game, but he made some plays and moved some chains.
Cam Heyward. It's unfair that you defensive guys do ALL that amazing work and all we see are those big beautiful offensive plays, but that beautiful defense held Minnesota in check all day long. Cam was a big part of that as was the general swarming nature of the entire defense. Really impressive.
I expressed some concern about Bell early in the game thread, but he did sort of what he always does. Bell just quietly amasses yards. He doesn't often break out huge runs, he just continues to take those 4 yard and 3 yard runs until he finds a 10 yard crease here and there. Honestly if you look at his career stats, he doesn't break a lot of loooong runs. He's just kind of consistent with his 4+ average. Which frankly aint all that bad. If you need three, he's almost always going to get you 4+. It's a pretty safe bet.
I see him slowly getting in synch with the line and working his way back into football. I think now he's just been away from the game for awhile and needs a bit of time to find that gear.
