If Vernon Davis is worth two 6ths in exchange for him AND a 7th, Weddle isn't worth a 4th.
 
We gave up a 5th for Boykin and a sixth for Scobee. We get a sixth back for the punter sent to the Giants. All in all we just lost a 5th rounder.
 
With what I've seen of Mitchell so far this year, he's play has improved and he looks faster out there. His arrow is pointing up. Golden has been a nice surprise. At this point, safety isn't as big of a concern. The Steelers need a good cover corner more than anything. No thanks to Weddle.

And maybe we get a compensation pick for somebody who left that helps too?
 
I would give them a 2020 5th rounder for him.
 
As much as I wouldn't mind seeing Weddle on the team, I think they've found a player in Robert Golden. I'd stick with him and let he and Mitchell continue to gro together. At least the next few years with these 2 will be fine.
