We missed out on "the Maniac."

IIRC some people here wanted this guy. They, probably didnt want him in the 1st, though. I didnt look back to see who or when.

Did the cheaters want him?????? The OP thinks so..........

Salute the nation

Good on him. Hard work, perserverance, determination, and a good attitude. I love it.

Imagine how much better this D would be if we had this guy?

It hurts.

Agreed. We also missed out on Baker in round two, and he's doing very well in Miami.

Odd ,the Steelers knew ILB was their main weakness. They tried and filed to trade up for Vander Esch, who also looks good.

Maybe Rookie Matt Thomas can bail them out? I tend to think we have no true 3 down ILB right now, and hope the coaches play the ILB with " situational football " something Tomlin isn't very good at.

The Steelers used to be an organization noted for their keen ability to spot linebacking talent when they see it.
Not so much anymore sadly.

When the Steelers have been winners are the times they've had a badass linebacker, an enforcer.

Jack Lambert
Greg LLoyd
Joey Porter
James Harrison

And who was between Lambert and LLoyd???

The 1980's

Their trade up target was Evans, wasn't it?

I wanted the one armed bandit, but I'm not going to keep saying how right I was that the Steelers didn't draft him. Because I'm not a narcissist.

Mike Merriweather, David Little, Robin Cole, Hardy Nickerson, Bryan Hinkle...not that bad. Better than we have now.

My question is why isn't Thomas seeing some snaps? It's obvious he's more athletic than what we're putting out there.

We had several good linebackers in the 80s - Mike Merriweather, David Little, Robin Cole, Dennis Winston, Bryan Hinkle, and Hardy Nickerson come to mind. They may not have been enforcers in the mold of Lambert, Lloyd, or Harrison but they were solid and probably better than most of what he have now.

Wow, Mr Peeples, do you have a link to my computer?
