We have many needs, but we NEED an edge rusher

I prefer Burns over Sweat even with Sweats steller combine...

AB's antics will likely have the unpleasant effect of steering the draft away from the critical needs of ILB and CB and toward a speed WR that can catch.

by picking up buds option no way are they let him plat at 9 mill they have to extend 3-4 years to lower that cap number and he must be used as both a olb and de.
What about Chase Vinovich? rnd 3

Even with Bud on the field we are still top 2 or 3 in sacks for the last two years.

We need an ILB and a corner opposite haden way more than we need an Edge player.

that may be true, but we've only got Durpee for one more season unless they extend him.
I'd rather not go into the next draft with an apparent hole on the team... again.

I just don't see us paying bud 9 mill for 1 year I think no team would of given that and letting test the market and matching would of been a better route there is no way with his former teammate smith clay Matthews dee ford out that that teams would pay him 9 mill. I see they re signing him 4 years 28 mill 6 mill bonus. With a proper LB coach he could reach his potential.

Well, and there is free agency as well. I think our attempt to fill the hole at ILB was not a smashing success in FA last year. It still looked like a glaring hole to me.

And now Burnett says he wants out bc he wants to play safety, not an ILB hybrid. (old news, I know).

Any chance D. Bush falls to us? I'm thinking he won't after this combine.

I don't think Bush was slated to go high so I guess technically he wouldn't be falling. But sure he could be there.

Also Chiefs are releasing Houston. But he still might want to start....

There are some good options out there - Polite's injury may cause him to slide.

Austin Bryant (Clemson), Christian Miller (Bama), Chase Winovich (Michigan), Brian Burns (Fla. St.), and D'andre Walker (Georgia) could all be viable options in the second round - I don't see any slipping to round 3...

Burns is my favorite but probably will be gone by our second pick. And I think the Steelers will draft either a ILB/CB/WR in 1.

We have an edge guy, his name is TJ Watt. He need a nose tackle, no, 2 nose tackles more than even a RB.

Polite did absolutely nothing well, despite his injury.

I know you saw him at Florida, as did I. I'm not as enamored with him as I saw him as a feast or famine guy. Feasted against **** teams, and was shut down against the better teams.

I'd avoid him altogether.

Say what you will about Bud, but we’ve led the league in sacks by a wide margin the past two years. Bud is not a star but that skill is not the thing we *need* the most. What this defense *needs* is ball skills in the back end, and the offense needs WRs and a RB. We do need talent there, but let’s not act like the Steelers can’t sack the QB. That’s about the only thing they actually do well defensively

My question would be: how many of those sacks are coming from edge rushers/interior & how many are coming on blitzes? I'd be interested to see that breakdown. Not that I have a strong opinion either way, but it would help to see the actual numbers & circumstances.
