Way too early guys I want in round one

1. Jamel Dean, CB, Auburn
2. Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
3. Connor McGovern, G, Penn State

Steelers 1st Round Pick Down to 6 Players

If you look at the mocks already out there, they have only 2 ILB's going in the first round:
Devin White going very early, most have him in top 10 and Mack Wilson going late first.

The 4 top CB's go in various order in different mocks:
Byron Murphy
Greedy Williams
Deandre Baker
Amani Oruwariye

All mocks have at least 1 of these lasting to 20 and many have two of them. If I were a betting person, our first pick will be 1 of these 4.
With Haden in final year of contract and nobody at the other CB, it is the position of most need.

Projections and mocks will all change after the combine and pro days.

Fill need with FA corner or MLB or OLB. MLB will be cheaper. Draft the other. Defense in first two rounds and pray Tomlin needs a stress leave. MLB might be ok with Fort/Thomas. Rest is pretty much ****.

We will pick the guy that looks good in shorts with no ball skills or playmaking ability

Its the Steelers way

There are very few worthy CB's available in this years free agency.

Yeah, that's why we've picked guys like TJ Watt, DeCastro, Pouncey, Heyward, Shazier....cause they all suck but look good in shorts.

Talking about CBs in Round 1 you doofus

I've seen N'Keal Harry pop up a couple times. He looks like a bigger JuJu.

But, like mdk2 states, **** will change after the combine/pro days.

>>>Pratt intrigues me. My initial thoughts are Allen and White are top 15 picks.

However we should have really good value in round two for the inside linebackers, and the ability to pick Mack in round one if he works out well.

The key here is the Steelers MUST understand what makes a good inside linebacker in 2019. Forget the thumper types, the man needs speed, and coverage ability too. Yet they give Williams an extension?

Outside a QB, WR, and maybe Oline I would take best player available. Obviously defense is of importance but would also like to see them use cap space and restructuring to bring in some playmakers on the defensive side. I’m also not talking about another Burnett & Bostic signings either.

Agree that Allen and White will be gone by our pick.

I saw one mock with us taking

Discussing the 2019 draft in 2018 really pisses me off.

This year is the most disappointing I've seen in many years, and I've been disappointed every year since the 2008-2009 Super Bowl.

1). The front office ignoring the gaping hole at ILB.
2). Tomlin's continued incompetence.
3). The LeVeon Bell fiasco
4). The constant choking (see #2 above). Fumbles, missed FG, missed XP, Ints, Lack of turnovers on Defense.

We are wasting all this talent. This team needs a Tom Coughlin type coach.

With LVE emerging, the Cowboys will be open to move Sean Lee, in the last year of his contract. That's a guy I'd like to have!

Numbers wise, Ramsey fits, with the loss of Bell. No issue there. I'd retain Haden as well, and we are locked in a CB. The Safeties did a great job this year of taking away the big play. You have lock down corners, and those young safeties will be playmakers!

I'd also consider moving Brown if I can pick up Fitzgerald for a year. High character guy, never takes a play off, and he's a bigger target for Ben. You'd only have 1 legit year from Fitz though, maybe 2, but that's Ben's window IMHO. If AB is a problem, you move him and his salary for multiple high picks, and possibly another pro bowl caliber player.

If Sean Lee can stay healthy, that is a good short-term option for the Steelers.

Sean Lee will be a salary cap casualty. I’d be interested in bringing him in on a cap friendly incentive laid deal but we’d have to see what the market offered him first.

You guys want to bring in a 33 year old (when they start next season) Lb that has never played a 16 game season and only played in 7 games this year? Build through the draft.

They aren't going to fill two starting ILB spots in one draft. The question becomes is Lee better than Williams and/or Bostic? I think he is.

If he is healthy he is... but the fact remains that the Steelers cared so little about the ILB position last year they didn't even bother to draft one. I don't see them bringing in an oft injured ILB to fill the void.

It would have to be something along those lines or the Steelers are losing out on value.

I agree if they upgrade ILB and CB that D will look a lot more attractive.

I'd rather have Mosley, you know he can stay on the field .A certain Green Bay SS should remind us the consequences of gambling on a older player known to have more than his fair share of injuries.

Sean Lee? Guy will probably get injured walking in the building to sign his contract. It's why the Cowboys drafted LVE. Lee just can't stay healthy.
