New HC.Any more needs before you blow a gasket???

New HC.Any more needs before you blow a gasket???
For 41 mill I'm gonna need 20 sacks, his usual couple of game ending strip sack fumble TD's, I need that high leg kick &
I NEED FOR THE STOOPID DEFENSIVE CO-ORDINATOR TO MOVE HIM AROUND SO THEY STOP DOUBLING HIM..
If you have the right scheme, X and O ability and talent I think they won’t wear down. Wearing down comes from trying too hard with a deficiency in one, two, or all three areas.I don't think the schedule has anything to do with the players wearing down.![]()
Big Beautiful Post.
Have fun looking for someone to fight with on the internet. Lame.
a decent deal for both sides. Watt gets to be the highest paid non QB and top Garrett.
The Steelers get a possible exit ramp if his play declines before he hits his mid 30s and before they need to pay the QB they hopefully draft next year his 2nd contract
I wonder if this was Watt capitulating since it’s only 3 years instead of something like 5 years
The time of possession deficit, especially in first halves, started way before that 4 game end of the year stretch and was an all season problem, just like it was under Canada. Who is the constant, we all know the answer.Let's zoom in your complaint about Coach Tomlin (again)...
"...if they are all worn down in January that's on Tomlin..."
Raise your hand if you know the answer.
How many coaches are responsible for creating the schedule that their team plays each year???
Whilst we wait on a response - there was uproar (here) when the schedule was released last year about the gauntlet of 3 games down the final stretch in the December time frame. Remember that??? Compound that with George being sidelined due to injury and Russell playing like Neil O'Donnell - welp, we know what happened.
Back to the question. You play who's on your schedule and roster when available. Period the end. How about pointing a finger at Ol' Rog and the schedulers???
You don't NEED to move him around, that would just be a plus. But what you do NEED to do, is stunts, blitzes, bringing another guy to his side, there are ways to keep guys off of him without having to move him around too much. So hopefully (doubtful, but hopefully), they look at ALL the ways to keep guys off him so he can wreck games like normal. For 41 mill I'm gonna need 20 sacks, his usual couple of game ending strip sack fumble TD's, I need that high leg kick &

1 million more then Garrett.......good.
I think you hit it on the head as to the only reason it makes sense to me also... they figure there wont be a Franchise QB they have to pay out of the wazoo during the next 3 years so why not...otherwise I wouldn't feel that great about it.This likely isn't popular but my feeling was it would always get done but I would feel it's too much for one player. It's exactly how I feel. I agree 3 years is a good compromise given his age, but I don't want to be sitting in the same position in 2028. The cap hit will work because we won't be paying a QB big money during this contract.
I'd like to see TJ being more of a force at the end of the season.
Eagles, Ravens and Chiefs over a 10 day span plus travel time... yeah, that was a cake walk - without George in 2 of them as well...I don't think the schedule has anything to do with the players wearing down.![]()
We were out coached and out schemed in all those games. They were tough games to watch.Eagles, Ravens and Chiefs over a 10 day span plus travel time... yeah, that was a cake walk - without George in 2 of them as well...

It stems from not being able to even get first downs and possess the ball in the first halves of games, that’s on Tomlin as the head coach. Then there is the bend don’t break philosophy on defense and inability to stop the run, especially on 3rd down, leaving the defense out there too much game after game-again on the head coach, it absolutely has a cumulative effect and will be an even bigger problem this year with all the best players on defense are 30 or older: Ramsey, Watt, Heyward, Slay…unless Tomlin changes his stubborn conservative approach, or at least coaches up his line full of 1st round talent to run block and be able to move the chains on 3rd and short
Blaming Rog for giving poor coach Tomlin too tough of a late season schedule is pathetic and a loser mentality. Champions find solutions and losers find excuses
I'm actually not disagreeing with your assessment. The time of possession deficit, especially in first halves, started way before that 4 game end of the year stretch and was an all season problem, just like it was under Canada. Who is the constant, we all know the answer.

If by problematic you mean character/attitude/negative influence on the locker room: this offseason they’ve cut away one player in Pickens and added 3 that have a history of similar but not as extreme behavior in Rodgers, Metcalf, and Ramsey.Iac

All I'm saying is regardless of the schedule, the weather, and the game plan - players have to make the plays.
Yes, the offense was atrocious under Coach Canada and Coach Tomlin, albeit late, course corrected and brought in Coach Smith.
As I said in an earlier post (probably a different thread), The HC and FO are cutting away all the problematic players--- so, give them so credit is all in saying...
I don't care about moving him around i just want to see some blitzesFor 41 mill I'm gonna need 20 sacks, his usual couple of game ending strip sack fumble TD's, I need that high leg kick &

I want our team to win. More and more I think it is really only entertainment. He is a high paid entertainer. Even if Tomlin uses him wrong. He is on the field. It's what people want to see.
They want to see tj. They don't want to see Tomlin use him wrong.
Over 100M guaranteed. Doesn't fit in the Rooney way of doing things.
Yep... the Steelers have talent. Enough to get to the playoffs and even win games there. Couching scheme and philosophy on both sides of the ball have been holding them back.I read this all and I'm torn on the wisdom of this signing.
I guess I would feel a LOT better if I felt we had a coaching staff that could make the most of a player like TJ. As it is, a good deal of the league has expressed that our schemes are outdated and beyond predictable. Hell, I can tell you 75% of the time what we're going to do from my living room. Can't be all that hard for a professional coordinator (with more than half a brain, unlike Austin!) to figure out.
The difference being I don't see those three taking plays off and refusing to block. I also don't see really any on field issues with AR. I want him to hold guys accountable. The best always have.If by problematic you mean character/attitude/negative influence on the locker room: this offseason they’ve cut away one player in Pickens and added 3 that have a history of similar but not as extreme behavior in Rodgers, Metcalf, and Ramsey.
If you want me to give the FO and HC credit for doing something and not sitting around- I will.
Time will tell if the things they did are going to help them become first a functional team then relevant contenders. It starts with scheming in a way that maximizes talent and ensuring these new players buy into the team-that’s 100% on Tomlin since he wanted them.
Do the players as grown men and pros half to play and behave yes-because if they don’t their careers are in serious jeopardy. But if it fails or succeeds the first and last person to get the credit or blame is Tomlin. Thats “why he’s highly compensated” as he tells us
Any fan looking at this with a level head is hopeful but sceptical it will work.
