I watched the game again (I know I'm a glutton for punishment). One thing I noticed. He took a sack very early. After that point, Ben did not move in the pocket AT ALL. He stayed in the same spot the whole game.

I'm used to him moving up or laterally to avoid pressure, but he did none of that.

Also, the shoestring sack form Villanueva's guy, I've seen him jump out of numerous times. This time, he winced then went down.

Something looks wrong with his left foot/ankle. I believe it's the same that was injured in the Rams game.

Obviously, his play in that game looked like a game that he just returned from a bad injury to play.

Thoughts?

Can't say the coaches should of ran more because that has already been panned here. He had a bad game it happens, it sucks, but you move on. He's human.

He never said anything about it on his show, on the radio he took a hit early in the game after a throw, and Wolfley said he was hunched over in pain on the sideline when he came off. He didn't say anything about it, neither did Tomlin.

Brown and Bryant make those two catches, 26-34 for 300+ with 2 TD's 2 INT's looks alot better.

I don't want to make excuses, but it seemed apparent throughout the game that something was wrong. To me, it looked like indifference, but if he was getting sick or hurt somewhat, I suppose that might be it. It just seemed like his mind was a million miles away.

The plot thickens. Ben misses practice due to "illness"

Honestly, after hearing his post game interview it sounded like he had some kind of cold or flu.. no excuse but it could explain the lethargic play.

Maybe he got the estimate for the furniture and kitchen equipment for the restraunt?

Just reported this morning on 93.7 The Fan that Ben was sent home from practice. Wasn't feeling well. Now makes you wonder some about last Sunday.

I'm sick and tired of players playing hurt and hurting the team as a result. I think we could have won with Landry Jones if Ben was that bad off.

I think maybe he was sick more than hurt. He was most definitely off. The drops didn't help, but he was off. Gotta take the bad with the good.

I agree, Cope. I mentioned that very same hit in one of the threads Sunday night. He was slammed pretty hard to the turf and was obviously shaken up when getting up to his feet. He wasn't right from that point forward. He had a very un-Ben like performance the rest of the way. Something was wrong and this seems to be a strong possibility. Ben's not going to admit to any pain he may have been in (in his interviews) 'cause he's a tough mofo and will not deflect the fact he played poorly whether it was due to an injury or not.

If brown and Bryant make catches they should make we win by double digits, Ben has 300+ yards and completes 72%
of his passes with 2 TD's. Ben played bad but made clutch throws when needed and our team MVP and supposed most physically gifted wr in the NFL failed to make a catch

Lol, Scrapdog said "un-Ben like"!

That's right. Something wasn't right with him whether it was a stinger he incurred from that really hard hit early in the game or him being under the weather (or both...who knows). Ben's had too many amazing games to look so subpar against that very maligned defense. It's the only thing that fits, IMO. I have faith in our QB, sorry you don't.

Ben plays through things that hurts the team... He needs a coach who has the balls to say no to him no matter how bad he wants to play when he isn't making throws at 100%....
