Vonn Bell SS Ohio State

In my opinion, and I'm no scout, Bell is going to be a hit or miss type. He has good size, not great. He has good coverage skills, not great. He's good against the run, not great. He's solid ... not spectacular. He doesn't make a whole lot of mistakes, but he's not going to give you a lot of "spectacular",INT run back for a TD plays. And he could use a little work on his tackling as at times he tries to "catch" the ball carrier instead of going at him and making the tackle. This leads to him getting pushed back. Again, this isn't all the time, but its often enough to be noticeable.

What he does have is smarts/a feel for the game. That allows him to be in position to make plays. Rarely out of position. Does his job and does it to the best of his ability. He'd be a good pickup for the Steelers depending on what position they address in round 1. He's not a good pick for the Steelers at 1:25.

My favorite SS from OSU would be Lee the OLB. Might slip to rd 2 because of his size. Former QB/DB who seems very instinctive and is projected to run a 4.5.

SteelBuckeye...

You may not be a scout, but you know your players. I agree with your evaluation completely. Solid player. NOT an round one player. 2.25... maybe?!

obxsteeler...

I think Lee is a fantastic player! However, I am not convinced that he can move back to Safety. I think he is a perfect fit in a 4-3 at weakside LB. Now, if we work him out and are confident that he play SS in the NFL? Go for it. Just my opinion... he will NOT be there for us in round two. I honestly think there is a possibility he may be gone before our pick in round one! Great player.
