Visiting Pittsburgh

Yes, but they're franchising now, so you can find they in MD and FL. Peppi's is a must, to order a Roethisburger.

Are the chains as good as the original? Just asking, I don't know.

They have one in Hagerstown that I've been to a few times. It's got a family restaurant feel, over the sandwich shop feel where you see them cook it in Pittsburgh. Only South Park has a restaurant, that I've seen in Pit, and Monroeville. The one in Hagerstown is a legit family restaurant with great happy hour specials. Beer and a sandwich for $5? I'm all in!

The sandwich ingredients and flavor is the same as Pit in Hagerstown.

Anyone ever check out the ones in Florida?

Primanti Bros to me is overrated bordering on bland. And I am not a picky eater. It is when you put them up against say Peppi's they get blown away.

When trying Peppi's menu out ,The Big Wheeler is a must try. Damn good.

Yes, although they emphasize the pizza more than the sandwiches there. Sandwiches are the same. Met a bud of mine at one in Ft. Lauderdale, he said he'd driven by it 1000 times and never thought to stop. He's Jewish so I told him to get the pastrami and he's making like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally".

Don't you have to visit Primanti Bros as part of your Pitt experience?

There is the famous "Bob's Subs" in Slippery Rock. It is legendary. But there are a bunch of copy cats (one in Pitt), but they don't come close to the real BS at the Rock.
