I think you keep the edge players outside. If Dupree was healthy, you could consider bumping him or Watt inside, but that is not happening.
You have some drafted box safties in Edmunds, Allen, and Brooks that can do the job. I personally think Allen is next man up in this situation, unless UG3 is activated to the roster.

Again the bills aren’t exactly going to run the ball vs us... not their style... so using a safety isn’t going to be a huge issue...

Think we could see more dime and nickel packages with Allen coming down in the box. Don't think they're going to go 4-3 but I could be very wrong about that. My guess is we put a spy on Josh Allen like we've done with other mobile QBs.
Allen loves to roll right, especially when the pocket collapses because he throws very well on the run, would like to dress all our Dlinemen and just run 3 DL the majority of the game and try to collapse the middle of the pocket and force towards Watt. Buffalo doesn't run the ball much so the extra DB should see a ton of snaps.

There were options, of course... we could have grabbed a retread off the ufa list, but outside of nutcase Burfict it was pretty thin at ilb... We could have signed an ilb off a practice squad, but tgere you are getting a guy who isn’t starting material yet 99% of the time
There were other trades available... detroit was shopping a coverage ilb, but coverage ilbs have a pretty big cap hit.... and we need to cary some over to next year to have any chance of fielding a solid, competitive team...
Avery was cheap, absolutely starter material, and was graded out at 10th best lb in the league per those tools at PFF.... so he isnt a total scrub starter...
Ilb depth was a huge issue going into this year.. spillane has given us all we could ask for as abackup, but UG3 is damaged goods, and we needed some insurance in case of catastrophe like this....
I feel much better about the Bills game than the redskins game... like a ton really...
