Vick was brutal but......

Damn man. People make mistakes. Let it go already...

Welcome to Steeler Nation :thumb:

I think that win was crucial to Vick's confidence. If he can get his swagger back and now the obvious and blantant support and guidance by Ben (in spite of the coaches), he might just do Ben proud in his absence. We'll see with AZ.

As much as I dispise Carson Palmer, he IS leading the NFL in touchdown passes right now. So I think we'll need something serious from Vick if we're to beat that team, and yet another Herculean effort from our D.

Vick can win this game. But he's really got to do more. Whatever that is. Running, bombs, read-option, whatever.

They need to take it out of Haley's hands and put it in Ben's. Vick is not Ben and they have to game plan that way.

vick didn't make a "mistake".....he murdered dogs.....in cruel ways....that is not a "mistake"

Murder is the killing of another person without justification or valid excuse, and it is especially the unlawful killing of another person with malice aforethought.

Dogs aren't people. They can be slaughtered, but not murdered.

Id be fine saying Vick Murdered our offense for three quarters on Sunday, but im pretty sure he had a few accomplices too...

Murder - verb - to kill or slaughter inhumanly or barbbarously

close enough for me.....................

How funny would it be to see Ben with the OC headset on again, and maybe even start the game that way calling plays with Haley sitting on the bench. Ben called the final 2 drives this past game.

One of the most dramatic wins in recent Steelers history, and we got people in here talking bout:

"bu bu bu but Vick shoulda had like 3 interceptions!!"

"bu bu bu but he is not a great QB!!"

"bu bu bu but he hurt some puppies!!!!!"

Some of you are worse than the idiot fans that still refer to Big Ben as "Ben Rapethlisberger"

I suggest you:

1.) Stop being whining *** pansies- we won thegame
2.) Enjoy the f*king win

In the meantime- continue to enjoy your hamburgers, caged chickens and veal lol

There's a lot of bad QB's in the NFL right now. Vick isn't one of them and neither is Rivers.

Damn man. People make mistakes. Let it go already...

Getting in a bar fight. Mistake. Doing it more than once? When does it become "not a mistake"?
Getting a girl pregnant when you don't want to take care of the kid. Mistake. Doing it more than once? When does it become "not a mistake"?
Typing a wrong number on your IRS returns which messes up your return. Mistake. Doing it more than once? When does it become "not a mistake"?
Yelling at your boss. Mistake. Doing it more than once? When does it become "not a mistake"?
Making a wrong turn and going the wrong way down a one-way street. Mistake. Doing it more than once? When does it become "not a mistake"?
Writing a check where you think you have enough money in your account. Mistake. Doing it more than once? When does it become "not a mistake"?

Bankrolling and participating in an illegal gambling enterprise for who knows how long. Not a mistake, it is an intentional action taken with aforethought and planning.
Actually going to and taking part in illegal dogfighting. Not a mistake, it is an intentional action taken with aforethought and planning.
Viciously torturing and killing animals. Not a mistake, it is an intentional action taken with aforethought and planning.

For the middle one, going once, I could consider a "mistake". The third is just criminal and could be forgiven IMO. The third one indicates a depraved soul that I can't imagine being fixed after just a couple years in prison. Depraved.

ridiculous. He "hurt some puppies?" He viciously tortured and killed those dogs. He didn't kick one that got to close. Tortured. Killed. Not a nice quick kill like a shot to the head. Drowning. "hurt some puppies." What a ******* joke.

So, you conflate people being pissed about Ben getting accused but never even charged or arrested for a crime with people pissed because someone tortured and killed animals, for pleasure. Didn't just watch, participated in. I think he actually only went to jail for the illegal gambling, but not sure. In any event, there is zero doubt of his guilt in those heinous crimes.

There is an entire industry dedicated to gruesomely slaughtering animals for food. Is the meat industry depraved? And for the record, I eat meat. Lots of it.

There is an entire sport dedicated to killing animals for fun. Is hunting depraved? And before you come with that BS line about "hunting humanely", I've been hunting. Some hunters are humane, a great many are not.

True, but every quarterback hangs a receiver out to dry from time to time, even Ben. It was a good enough throw on the run to keep the drive alive and that's the most important part of it. DHB made a great play to catch and hold on to the ball after being upended.

Papillon

You really can't argue with people who will still criticize Vick for a high pass while he was leading the game-winning, 69-yard touchdown drive with 2 minutes left in the contest. You're right -- Ben throws at least one or two of those types of passes every single game. At least.

Bottom line is guys who can't stand Vick will still hate him no matter how he plays, despite the fact that he's played well enough to win both of the games he's started. That's all one can realistically hope for from their team's backup quarterback.

None of this equates to what this POS did.

I have pretty much let the subject die, and enjoy the wins while cheering on the team..

But let us not make light of the dogs, because to dog lovers this statement could very well make you look like a asshat joking or not.

It is like the Vick slurpers hate to hear people speak of the truth on and off the field.

He sucks on the field and off it is well documented.

We can love and cheer on our team while still realizing these facts.

San Diego is the one team I always bet low points in my point driven pick 'em league.

Why? because they are always consistently inconsistent .

So yeah for me I will enjoy the win as I really did.

I am also not naïve to the point that he better play a hell of a lot better to squeeze out one more win, while Ben sits...

I also will enjoy digs at Vick from posters about his ****** performance overall or his ****** off the field misadventures.

Because I can multi task like that. haha puppies, **** off..

End of my rant

Go Steelers!

I've followed this thread for 7 pages and I've said when he was signed and say now he was a good sign. We needed someone as a reliable backup since Landry Jones couldn't show it in preseason. I think what's importantr is how the other players feel about Mike Vick. Sure he struggles with some short throws and should have been intercepted BUT when it counts to win he came through and didn't fold. When guys like Heath Miller pay Mike Vick the compliment he did, other players listen and have renewed faith. BTW, as an aside, having a field goal kicker make a 47 yarder early to keep you in a game AND give you points sure helps. Kuddos to the new kicker.

Bottom line is the Vick haters are going to find fault no matter what he does and the pro Vick people will do the opposite. What I think matters is what his other teammates really think. Sure Bell's the man we all get that. Vick seriously struggled 3 quarters BUT came up big when it mattered. I bet that has a HUGE influence on his teammates.

Are you serious?

So you think the better move would have been to get a QB who is even less accurate (53% vs. 57%) and less successful (5-24) than Vick?

Yes. That is how bad I think Vick is as a QB at this point.

Also, there is some context to it as well. He played for Jacksonville and was supposed to be the savior - clear not that. I want to groom him as a backup.
