US Navy from 1982 to 1988
AT4 (Aviation Electronics Technician)
COMFEWSG DET1 (Command Fleet Electronics Warfare Support Group Detachment 1)

Best decision that I ever made. I was a punk *** party dude in a small town in south western PA headed in the wrong direction. The Navy fixed that real quick.

Damn, so familiar a story. USN 75-79, although the Navy wasn't able to fix me quite that fast.............Torpedoman E4 all the way back down to E1 and back up to E3 by discharge. Problems with authority I hear.

Great gesture guys, great board so 'll keep sending the 6 bucks a month........thanks!

I actually started back here in 2002 when Crash and all those guys was around. I remained a member but I don't nearly post as much as I did back when I was younger when I was a SSgt (yes I was a Kordell defender)...good ol days. I am know a CMSgt the highest enlisted grade in Air Force. I like to say my career grew with the the forum as my importance grew with rank my posting suffered due to not having time here in the forum. I still do manage to make it back at least once or twice a week to read and get a few good chuckles and sometimes really good post. Thanks guys!!!

Thank you all for your service to our country, and the sacrifices that you and your families made.

I've seen all the good places, and many I would like to forget. Too bad for all the younger guys that didn't get a chance to spend a few days in the PI with a fist full of dollar bills.

This site, and this thread, is AWESOME! I didn't go into detail in my first post but since many of the other Vets have thought i'd add:

Spc/E4. 31Q (tac sat, microwave sys op).
Basic: Ft Knox. AIT: Ft Gordon.
C. Co 34th sig, 93rd Bn, VII corps, Germany 88-90. Supported the 2nd ACR.
A. Co 25th sig, 35th BN, 18th Air Borne corps, Ft Bragg, 90-92. Supported 18th corps main. Volanteered to deploy with Charlie company for Desert Shield/Desert Storm as my company had the Ft Bragg commo mission for the war, no way i was gonna stay behind as a REMF!

My only regret was not going to airborne school. I had orders to go TDY to Benning when my PCS orders came, but it was cancelled when Sadaam invaded Kuwait. After the war i was too short to go and didn't want to re-up or extend.

Active Army 86-92, National Guard until retirement 4 years ago.

Thank you for the support. You've insured my work productivity will remain diminished most of the year!

What an amazing gesture. I served and retired from the USAF from 1984-2004 and still work at Hanscom AFB, MA as a civilian. Deployed to OP:Desert Shield/Storm where I was with AFSOC at Al Jouf forward air base. Actually met my wife when we became PenPals from an any Serviceman letter I picked up on the way to work from the Command Post. Went back to the Desert in 2004 to support OP:Iraqi Freedom assigned to SOCCENT Forward at Qatar. Came back and retired on a Friday in BDUs and started back on Monday with dockers.

Thanks again! I'll be hitting the contribute button tonight when I get home!
